Maniak's NBA Podcast Survey (for lack of a better title)

Thanks to Tastic for giving the go-ahead on me making this thread. I'm hoping to start this with a preseason preview we can all look back on and laugh at.

So I created this survey and submitted it at several forums that I visit. The responses so far have been promising that there is a viewer-base out there that is looking for a podcast and is looking for more NBA content. Every response will be taken into consideration and read fully.

This shouldn't take too much of your time to complete (varying on whether or not you want to choose the "other" option on some and go into gorier detail, which I'm totally happy with!) and it is so greatly appreciated. I'll keep you guys updated on what is going on, where you can listen to the podcast, etc. Creating this podcast is a very exciting prospect for me and it's an idea I've mulled for years.

I'll hit you all with a mini-update just so you can know that your input is going...somewhere.

I've been chatting with some people and it's looking like it will be 3 of us doing this podcast. We want to bring out at least 1 pre-season episode, kind of an "Episode 0.5". Then we're looking to move into a consistent twice a week format.

Once we sort of have a "proof of concept" going with our twice a week I'm hoping to start creating some specials. Things like filling up days along the year where there isn't NBA content (or very little) to satisfy any cravings people have. We all have some good ideas for how to do this & I'm really excited to actually bring things in my brain to life.

I'll start up a new thread for when we have all the little details sorted out and we have a date for our pre-season episode. If you read this now and the survey is still open, by all means fill it out. I'm still checking it once or twice a day to make sure nobody's comments get ignored.

Maybe because I live in Australia, I'm not aware of the good in-depth podcasts but all the ones I've listened to in the past have all been about big market teams or superstars talk. I'd love to hear more about the Tuckers, Gibsons and the Aantetokounmpos of the NBA world, guys who don't get much media attention but are a big part of the team or are young up and coming players who aren't Kyrie Irving or Wiggins. Those guys and those teams don't need more coverage.

What podcasts do peeps currently listen to about NBA stuff?

I currently have BS Report (only the NBA ones/the odd entertaining one), Grantland (ditto), Short Corner Pod (Paul Shirley - very funny), The Starters, Hardwood Paroxysm, Believe the Hype (don't overly like this one).

Also listen to a few fantasy NBA/MLB ones. Also DL Burns & Gambo and Doug & Wolf's pods/radio shows, fortunately they put them up hour by hour so I skip the NFL stuff and only get the ones relating to the Suns...

I use to listen to Sekou Smith's one and Bruce Bowen's too, but both guys were incredibly annoying...

good ideas there-- i didn't know HP had a podcast, I will definitely try that. will try short corner pod-- never heard of that either.

i listen to the lowe post now and the BS report whenever my friend who likes bball and bill simmons suggests it (ie whenever its about bball).

the only other sports podcast i listen to is olbermann. i dunno why but i like listening to him call the baseball highlights even though i can't see them. hrmm.
