I agree. We were clamoring for a late 1st rounder a few months ago for Thad so I'm satisfied that we're getting a mid-late 1st rounder. This wasn't a Pelicans/Magic type of trade where we committed highway robbery, but I think this was sufficient value for both sides, especially considering Thad is an expiring for us.
But if last season's tank was brutal, I wonder how bad this upcoming season is gonna be...
Part of my disappointment is just in comparison to what I thought we were going to be getting in Bennett. IF the pick ends up in the teens then it is a good return for Thad given the circumstances.
I guess that I have to remind myself that Lebron is no longer on the Heat so they should struggle to win more than 45 games or so.
With Miami winning only 54 games last season, I could definitely see them only winning around 45 games this upcoming season. They'll have a worse record than anyone in the West and I see the Wizards taking that division so that makes their best case scenario as 5th seed in the East, giving us the 18th pick. Depending on how many games Wade takes off for rest/injury, I could see the pick falling in the 14-17 range.
