The whole question is whether Thad > Shved/Luc/Mia 1st or not, right?

Because, like I just said, there's a good chance that this is actually a three-team trade. One trade, not two.

It doesn't matter. It's the Wolves choice whether it's a 3 team trade. Cleveland doesn't give a ****. You can criticize the Philadelphia portion separate from the rest of the trade if you disagree with it.

You madman, with your logic and so forth.

You have to remember who you are talking to in situations like that.

Looking at just the Phili trade, I'm not sure how one can even begin to criticize that.

We trade $7.5M in garbage contracts for a 26 year old starting PF and all we have to give up is a gratuitous mid to late first rounder?

Sorry, Thad's not an all-star PF that can shoot 40% from three, but we're getting a good, young player for peanuts.

I think the issue is giving up a future pick for a player who might not be here beyond next season when next season's record shouldn't be that important. I'm not against this trade, but I think there's room for debate.

We were talking about CLE's luck to have 3 #1 picks in 4 years and how ridiculous it was.
Now we got 2 #1 picks, one with HUGEEEEEEEEEEEEEE potential and people are whining about a future #15-25 pick?

It was pretty much a forgone conclusion that LeBron would send Wiggins for Love a month ago. I thought we were all saying how Love should give us more than that but circumstances dictate that we take the best deal available? How the mind and perspective changes in weeks eh? Not everybody has to like everything the wolves do and just because people disagree with something doesn't mean they are whining. There is a lot of tangible evidence with stats and numbers that show this may not be a good move, while there is speculative intangibles of why this may be a good move. If anybody is whining, it is people who are bashing others for disagreeing with a small part of Flip's trade because they just want everybody to feel the way they do.

2/3 of this forum were in favor to trade Love for the BOS package during the draft night. I can't forget posts saying that BOS deal is much better than the other options, to take Gordon with #6 etc.
Now compare what we got with what we would get in the BOS trade. Day and night imo.
Could the current trade be better? Maybe ... We still have Barea, Hummel will again stretch not the floor but our nerves, we can't sign GR3 (at the moment), etc. MIA's pick is just one of those minor hiccups.
The overall trade is great. Enjoy the moment, focus on the bigger picture.

I love the bigger picture as it comes to Flip's success in getting Wiggins and drafting Lavine. I'm just saying whether it was the Boston/GSW/Cavs trade, we have always maintained that Love was more valuable and while Wiggins+AB is an amazing return, they still aren't equal in a vacuum so I reserve my right to be as greedy as possible lol. I also see this Thad Young inclusion for the pick as an important decision rather than something minor because at the end of the day, we really could have lost 3-4 more games and gotten Player X instead of reaching for Player Y. We might end up with a hole in our roster that we didn't anticipate and could really use another mid-first round pick. Thad opts in, and wolves lose an opportunity for a free agent that could take the wolves to the 2nd round of the playoffs immediately. More than any one reason, I just don't like how much less flexible the wolves become and that doesn't seem ideal as a rebuilding team that is trying to shape an identity.

You really need to give it a rest, the deal is done.
Be here now.
The last thing we need is another young guy on a guaranteed deal picked around #20 where 80% of them are busts. We have enough young guys now.

Rubio
Lavine
Wiggins
Bennett
Dieng
Bazz
GR3
Hummel

We really need that miami pick???
Seriously, chill out.

How am I not chilled out? I'm just presenting the facts while everybody uses all these caps and multiple punctuation marks to tell me to calm down. This is a discussion board. I like for the wolves to be flexible and I love the Miami pick. Stop responding to my reiterations and acting like you've seen it for the first time and then I can stop defending why I feel the way I do. Let's just move on.

I think it's funny that Phoenix is trying to get in on Love at this point. Don't get me wrong, I completely understand why they're doing it. Might as well make the offer and see if you can luck out.

I just don't understand why they didn't try to get involved earlier. They really couldn't tell from their early discussions with Bledsoe and Rich Paul that he absolutely wouldn't accept less than the max? Really poor job by their management on that whole situation IMO. I think a Bledsoe+ offer would have been pretty attractive compared to the other rumored offers before Wiggins came along.

It's all moot now though.

That ESPN report was 100% BS. Think about it. Rich Paul is Bledsoe AND Lebron's agent. Why in the world would Paul agree to a Bledsoe SnT that derails the Love trade to Cleveland??? Unless he wants to get fired by James.

It could be a Paul/James "plant" to cover any tiny chance the NBA is contemplating tampering issues in the Love to Cavs deal.

Cavs fan here that is awaiting final confirmation of this trade. Really appreciate having a trade that will hope BOTH teams. I truly believe that Bennett will be a really good player. sure he had a rough first year, but there were some consistent moments where he really flashed his ability, and he DOES have ability. I will really be rooting for you guys...what could be better than a Wolves- Cavs finals in a couple of years!

That doesn't bother me at all. I think Young's going to be a good fit. What that argument misses is that there a pretty good chance a guy like TY would be pretty thrilled to come be Andrew Wiggins' role model. It's a pretty sweet job.

CLE fan - not gonna lie, I'm mildly irked by the trade as I think Flip is gently bending us over given the circumstances.

But that said not here to troll, just wanted to note that I'm glad you are keeping Bennett and Wiggins together. Should help their development and Bennett is not the super scrub he looks like on paper - he has some tools and I think you guys will be impressed with his upside as a rebounder / scorer. He can actually handle the ball a bit as well. I think you will start to notice it right away now that his conditioning is better. He just needs to stay in a good place mentally.

Wiggins it's hard to tell. I wasn't huge on him in college but from the glimpses of training camp and summer league you could tell he will be an all-star in the very near future. He has a great attitude also, very humble kid.

I'll be rooting for both of them.
