Probably not, but I never gave it much thought.

Answer: No
The 2011 RealGM Top 100 is below. Schrempf is not on it.
To be really certain, I'm also naming 15 other players better than Detlef Schrempf not on the 2011 RealGM Top 100 list.

15 years of Detlef > 5 years of Rose, WB, Curry, Love, Griffin, Harden...
This place is a cesspool of mindless ineptitude, mental decrepitude, and intellectual lassitude. I refuse to be sucked any deeper into this whirlpool of groupthink sewage. My opinions have been expressed. I'm going to go take a shower.

If not, he's pretty close in my book. I think he was underrated in his day and his unique skill set was a great boon to each team he played for.

He's probably not, but this guy could really really play. His 93 season is one of the truly underrated years a guy has had. Had a bunch of really good years for Seattle and Indiana.

Re: Detlef Schrempf top 100?
I've never made a personal list up to 100, so maybe I do consider him a top-100 player. But I would guess that no, I would not.
Still, really nice player to have. He'd be perfect as a stretch 4 today if you paired him with a bulky, dominant defensive big who rebounds the ball.

Detlef really wasn't a stretch player tho. It wasn't really until his Seattle days that he even shot the 3 and it was never a defining part of his offensive game. The guy was much more of a slasher, penetrator than he was a pure jump shooter. Really good secondary playmaker too.

True, but once he shot it, he balled out. 50/50/80 season in 1995.
He had some crazy stat lines in his career. 1993 with 19/9/6...Larry Bird-lite.

Re: Detlef Schrempf top 100?
Top 100 or not, the guy was a very good player…
From 90-97:
~17 PPG, 7 RPG, 4 APG, 1 SPG
~51% FG, 39% 3PT, 81% FT, 60% TS
119/108 OFF/DEF RTG, .172 WS/48
One of my favorites to watch back then, too.

Re: Detlef Schrempf top 100?
I'm pretty comfortable saying no.
He's easily a top 150 player, though, and arguably top 125 (imho).

Re: Detlef Schrempf top 100?
Watch out for some of those 90s Seattle numbers from 3. There were a couple of years where they moved the 3 point line in and Seattle was the team I most remember taking massive advantage of it.
I liked Schrempf a lot; maybe the first great Euro. (Marciulonis was my favorite early Euro but he never got a big minute opportunity)

He was top 20 in Rapm for 97, top 30 in 99. Top 10 in 98. Offensively he might be top 10 of the 90s. Im looking at 2011 list and there are players from 74-on i dont think were better. Players like Penny who were great for only a short time
