I agree but in fairness, a lot of that impression is from the same guy whining constantly so that it seems most posts are negative. And you're absolutely correct - this is nothing but bumped up ridiculous expectations. 1. Because of Cooney and 2. because of the belief that every Hinkie trade is going to be some absurd rip-off.
Gortat is more valuable than Thad and was traded for pretty much the same pick (at least going in, who knows how it works out) and the Suns took back more bad salary than we did (though I'm not positive how insurance on Okafor ended up). At least the bad contracts we took back serve some purpose with LMAM an Embiid mentor and a Shved a no risk - likely no reward lottery ticket.
If we had gotten GRIII also, I would have loved this trade. As it is, I like it just fine. We're now more or less officially done with the breakdown and it is all building up from here.
You think Bennett, who has proven nothing is a "ridiculous expectation"? That is ridiculous. Wiggins would be a ridiculous expectation for this trade. You are severely overvaluing Bennett or Shabazz. Like I said before, asking for them is not asking for stud prospects. Both of those guys have been nothing but disappointments.

What do you expect to get from the Miami Heat pick? When you look at all the picks the Sixers have made between 15-20 over the last 10 years, that's what you are probably getting. A Rodney Carney, A Speights, etc. If you get lucky, maybe a Thad Young who was no better than a role player. If that excites you, party it up. I still preferred getting a player back.
