I'm just glad he's on the roster. It gives him time to "network" if you will, and get in some practice time with a group of great coaches and against some quality talent.

I'm almost mad that Plumlee made the roster though. The obvious favoritism there is an awful look for USA basketball.

Plumlee can come in and use up his fouls if nothing else, the ret of the positions are jam packed so why not bring another big I guess.

I agree with bringing another big. It's just the whole way they went about bringing Plumlee in over more deserving players is what doesn't sit well with me. It gives off the impression that if you're a Coach K favorite, you have an easier chance to make Team USA, and that being one of the best American basketball players doesn't necessarily mean a thing.

Davis didn't play last time out, and now he's a starter. It's just HUGE that Dre made the team at his age. Spending his summer playing on the most elite team on the planet can't do anything but good for him (barring fluke injury, of course).

And ditto everything that everyone has said about Plumlee making the team. Honestly an absurd case of favoritism, and I would've been bent if he'd made it over Dre.

Drummond is a half year younger than AD, 1 year younger than Irving, and at least 3 years younger than everyone else. Great experience for him.
Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.

I give Team USA credit -- they went big. They needed to with the primary competition coming from Spain.

I just didn't think they'd actually do it. Impressive.

In hindsight, my last post was based on the whole American Dream, if you put forth the effort and work hard and become the best, here you'll get your due, regardless of where you come from. Perhaps Plumlee making the team is actually the true testament to the good ole US of A. Where favoritism and who you know gets you farther than anything on your resume...

I think dre will be the second big off the bench behind cousins,I think plum will be for insurance.Once the tournament actually starts everyone will see why you need cousins and dre to have the most minutes.

I think it'll depend on the game. Drummond should get some burn against Spain, but maybe not anyone else.

Against most teams, going small with Faried/Davis at the 4/5 will work just fine. Those two will get utterly crushed against the Gasols, though.

I'm actually shocked. So cuts were Parsons, Korver , lillard, Hayward. I would've definitely taken Parsons over Mason.

This is huge for Dre, very proud and happy for him.

I'm waiting for Love to pull the last second opt in after the Cavs give him the green light. I would think the Cavs wouldn't mind him getting a chance to play with Kyrie and he's the guy USA needs. I wouldn't be surprised if Plumlee was the last second surprise addition whose had the situation explained by coach K.

Rudy Gay making it is the bigger shocker than even Chumlee here. Late addition after PG injury and outplayed the cut four?

Dre's secondary mission while on the team is to talk up Josh Smith to Gay and Cousins every chance he gets. Ha!

Maybe Gay and Cousins making it will have Sacto GM a little giddy and have visions of being a real contender and he'll go out and get Rondo and Smoove in the next two weeks.
