2011 Draft Class - best ever?

Post#1 » by COM_GTFO » Tue Aug 19, 2014 6:10 pm

I was just thinking, was the 2011 NFL Draft the best in NFL history? I know the consensus is that the '83 class holds that distinction, but the class of 2011 is ridiculous - the first 7 picks are all Pro Bowlers - just look at the class of 2011:

Potential HOFers: Newton, Miller, Dareus, Green, J. Jones, Peterson, Sherman, Watt, A. Smith, Quinn, Tyron Smith

Pro Bowl-level players: Pouncey, Houston, Torrey Smith, Murray, Cobb, Kerrigan, C. Jordan, Wilkerson, Dalton, Kaepernick, Solder, Liuget, Heyward, Rudolph, Julius Thomas, Jordan Cameron, Cecil Shorts, Sheard, Charles Clay, Ridley, Orlando Franklin, Jurrell Casey

Good/very good players: Phil Taylor, Ayers, Kerley, Vereen, Locker, Rahim Moore, Little, Malcolm Smith, Denarius Moore, Jimmy Smith, Ingram (on the wrong team), Helu

I'd say that's the best ever. Thoughts?

It is absolutely fantastic but Cam Newton has as much of a chance of making the HOF as I do

It looks good, but nothing beats the '83 Draft so far.

SEVEN hall of famers, and a bunch of other really good players like Roger Craig and Charles Mann(among others).
Eric Maynor is the worst basketball player I've ever seen.

michael irvin made it, don't think hof cares about character whole lot. aldon has a good shot barring lengthy jail sentence or ban.

op's list is quite optimistic though.
