we already have a shooting line-up

Post#1 » by coolness » Mon Aug 25, 2014 7:06 am

Augustin
Meeks
KCP
Singler
Drummond

those could be our starters.

trades could make the rest of it fit.

expirings could stay put: Bynum, Butler, Datome, Jerebko, Gray
along with: Dinwiddie, Martin

remaining: Jennings, Smoove, Mitchell, Monroe <--- these guys blow. Monroe doesn't blow, but he could move Smennings for expirings to NYK or whatever.

Det out: Jennings, Jerebko, Smoove, Mitchell, Monroe
Det in: Larkin, Bargs, Amare, Dalembert, NYK 2nd's of 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, Minny "1st" (two 2nd's)

NYK out: Larkin, THJr., Bargs, Amare, Dalembert, 2nd's of 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021
NKY in: Jennings, Smoove, Mitchell, Monroe

Pho out: Minny "1st" (two 2nd's)
Pho in: THJr., Jerebko

NYK upgrades talent quite a bit. Phoenix gets 1.5 good players.
Detroit....six 2nd's and hella cap just for losing Moose and resetting mistakes. Buy-out Amare.

Augustin, Bynum, Larkin
Meeks, Dinwiddie
KCP, Martin, Butler
Singler, Bargs, Datome
Drummond, Dally, Gray

Frankly, we would become better this year which would lower our draft pick, but at least there is the cap and the current young guys would develop on a functional team.

Too many situations where KCP can't play the 3, same with Singler at the 4.

I agree only with the Singler part, but that is why God made substitutions and tank-years.
Also, Singler is possibly just as good at the 4 as he is at the 3. The guy is nice and can be a core-piece, but he is limited no matter what.

So you think KCP can guard LeBron, Carmelo, Durant even for a few minutes a game? Not happening my man.

I'd start JJ at PF before Singler, provided we had depth.

Absolutely disgusting. Not even Howard could elevate that lineup to be a playoff contender, Drummond certainly could not.

Singler at the 4 would be awful.

Well, that's the extreme... Basically no one can guard them guys effectively and consistently :P.

I think he can play situational minutes at SF, it just depends on matchups but I agree.. I wouldn't pencil him in at starting SF and try to live with that.

My point is that he can't even guard them for a few minutes, of course he will play some minutes there.

I'm not saying I like this lineup, but saying KCP can't play many minutes at the 3 is wrong. He's the same size as Paul Pierce and Caron, two guys who thrived at the 3. Other than Lebron and Melo, there aren't many SFs built to overpower him. Skinny guys like Durant aren't effected by height. They're effected by pestering. And it's not like Durant is going to be stopped. That said I would still would like a prototype 3 like Batum and keep KCP at the 2.

I didn't mean that we would make the playoffs. We aren't anyways barring some unexpected things. I do think it would be good to have guys play roles that they are likely to play on future Pistons playoff teams. A dysfunctional team like last season's can slow players or maybe make them regress.

Pierce and Butler are both an inch or so taller and at least 20-30lbs heavier, anybody can see that.

How could I be so naive. An inch makes all the difference in the world.

So basically our core players and a few bench guys for NYK's trash and 2nd round picks? Is this a bad joke because I don't get how this will make us any better lol. With that line up you made we have the worst team in the NBA by far

And LBJ and Melo lost a lot of weight.

They'll still run a train on KCP.

But I agree that he can guard most 3's like stated above.
