When I first heard that he was on the trading block I wanted us to make a move but he doesn't shoot well or protect the rim which are the two things we most value from the PF position with the way our roster currently is constructed. He would certainly be an upgrade over what we have but he doesn't fit well enough to justify giving up much.

Giving up a former top 5 pick and an additional 1st rounder for a player who wouldnt fit the mold of our team at all would be an attrocity. Besides we already have a ton of players who log minutes at PF...

Of course Thaddeus Young is better than Marvin Williams, and it could've been beneficial to have sufficient talent on the roster, but having the both of them on the same roster as dual forwards alongside Al Jefferson would've been redundant. I have no quarrels with Cho for not making a legit play for Young

He would be an upgrade over Marvin, but not worth giving up a first especially for a guy on a one year contract. The organization is obviously hoping for Zeller or Vonleh to step up within the next year and be a long-term starter. Draft picks are also one of the few inexpensive ways a successful team can hope to add depth and improve. Cho has always seemed to value draft picks highly, and I agree with that philosophy.

I think Thad will do well in Minnesota though. Glad to see him on a young exciting team that actually wants to win some games.

He's not a long-term answer.

He's just a phad.

1st off, no. 2nd. Doesn't it seem odd that they were willing to take back a (probably) late 1st, Alexy Shved, and Mbah a Moute for him? That doesn't concern anyone. I'm glad they didn't. Wouldn't have minded getting Jared Dudley for peanuts, but the Bobcats really don't need him.

I would rather have him then Marvin Williams, but only slightly. Really like Thad's 2 steals per game, but Marvin has a better 3pt % and a better free throw %. Not worth giving up zeller or a first much less both.

Plus, Marvin Williams is a much better defender than Thad Young.
