I can't figure this out. In a week, they can expand the roster. Why bother? Did Reimold kick Gibbons' dog? And the Bison have a huge game tonight, last home game, wildcard on the line, full house, Norris pitching. This couldn't have waited a day?

Maybe they're doing Buffalo a favour.

I doubt taking their best hitter out of the lineup constitutes a favour.

Did you know that the Blue Jays acquired Nolan Reimold back on July 6? It has not felt like a month-and-a-half since that waiver claim. Of course, he had a stint on the disabled list four games into his tenure here (beating the one-game stint of Cole Gillespie) so he ended up playing just 22 games for the Blue Jays.

It was a fairly unspectacular 22 games that had him hit .212/.283/.404 and striking out 22 times out of 60 plate appearances. That kind of strikeout rate mixed with some bad defense is what got Juan Francisco released... oh that was only in my dreams? Poop.

The move is not official at the time of writing, but Shi Davidi reported the move this morning, after Jenn passed us the note on Twitter last evening, that Kevin Pillar has been recalled from Buffalo and that Nolan Reimold has been designated for assignment.

Reimold is probably being scapegoated for that loss the other night. Then again, I'm well past understanding a good many of this front office's roster moves.

At the end of the day, Buffalo can **** off. They are a AAA team. The entire organization is built on getting the Jays a world series. The Jays need to win some **** games, starting about 2 months ago. If Pillar can help them win now, you call him up now, and damn the torpedoes.

They aren't going to win the ****ing world series this season, Moses couldn't part the seas enough to get this team to promised land.

Well not with that attitude.

Why do I get the feeling that Pillar will be the starting LF next season?

Those against a Gose/Pillar platoon in CF next year will certainly not be enamoured at the prospect of Pillar and Gose holding down full-time jobs. But if the plan is to rebuild and no major-league outfielders are coming back, why not give both a shot?

I don't see how Pillar helps this team. At least Reimold has had some major league success at the plate.

However, +1 on the Buffalo can **** off. Major league roster needs trumps minor league roster needs 100% of the time.

AA is praying that Pillar can become an everyday CF or at least platoon for next year.

I really don't like Pillar. This move is highly perplexing to me.

I think Gibbons has the right attitude. But as a manager ... He sucks.

Pillar has hit at every level, but looks like turd-sandwich in the Majors. His inability to take a walk, and not swing at stuff outside of the zone, makes him a AAAA player until further notice.

Makes no sense to do this with roster expanding so soon. I'm assuming Reimold pissed off the wrong person. Could he be the Hillenbrand of 2014?
