Lakers Workout Beasley...UPDATE: signed by Grizz

I'm told that Michael Beasley had a second workout with the Los Angeles Lakers today. We'll see if the Lakers sign him.

The Lakers can offer just a minimum contract – not that Beasley could command more, anyway.

The No. 2 pick just six years ago, Beasley would give the Lakers another player with name recognition. He’d also give the Lakers another player who isn’t that good. For a franchise going nowhere anytime soon, Beasley is a perfect fit.

For Beasley, the Lakers might offer an NBA salary, and that beats not an NBA salary.

It’s a match made in heaven.

Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing, Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before;

Kennedy is a tool. I wouldn't mind signing Beasley though. At worst we drop his ass.

Does Beasley do anything well aside from warming the bench? Honest question...

What exactly could his role be in this league?

He doesn't really appear to have any redeemable skills as a role player. For the minimum, sure, but I honestly don't know what he could possibly offer aside from a body to have out there during garbage time.

There were 7 others at the workout

After missing out on LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony in July, the Lakers held a free agent workout Tuesday in Los Angeles. The workout included forward Michael Beasley; big men Dexter Pittman, Greg Stiemsma, and Daniel Orton; and guards Bobby Brown, Toney Douglas, Ben Hansbrough and Malcolm Lee, a person with knowledge of the situation told USA TODAY Sports.

Nice, was hoping they'd look at Orton before they signed Davis.

His role is scoring. He can easily give you 20pts a night. I don't think we need him but a team like Indy who will have trouble scoring and need to replace PG at SF, I think Beasley fits in there... Coming out Beasley was and still is a favorite of mine. I think he has tons of talent, his head just isn't there

I don't want to hear all the bs about talent vs hard work here. Throw wes put there vs. Beasley and Beasley would bust his ass. He is also more consistently healthy than X and played at a level they've never sniffed in the league. All things equal and we know the only certain roles are Kobe, Lin, Boozer, and Nick as the 6th. I say let him get a deal and then watch him beat out wes, x, Kelly, and co

Hoopshype reporting that we worked out Toney Douglas as well, I thought he signed in China? I'd take this dude over Beasley any day, he can D up and score a bit.

Boozer & Randle will eat up the PF minutes... Beasley would have to play SF which will destroy our spacing... Not a fan of the move...

The report that the Lakers were working Beasley out a second time, came from Kennedy.

The part afterwards that disparaged both Beasley, and the Lakers, came from Dan Feldman. The writer of that piece.

Just wanted to give you the correct target to aim your venom at. And, I sincerely hope that the Lakers will make Feldman eat/choke on his words. Beasley, or no Beasley.

I say signing Beasley makes Jordan Hill expendable. With Nash to Phoenix for Eric Bledsoe.

But he can get there, he just doesn't want to and it's a shame because their aren't many players with his talent.

No he doesn't... Hill is our starting center. Beasley is a backup SF. If we lose Hill we are very weak up front
