In case some of you did not see this, here is the owner of the Timberwolves bashing the hell out of Kevin Love as a player. http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/11417 ... s-own-team To me, this is a perfect example of why the Timberwolves will continue to struggle to get star players to sign with them or their own players to want to stay because of remarks like this. While the owner may make strong points, you never in a million years say what you are thinking publicly when you are the owner. I think he is a moron for saying that. If I am a player and see how he just destroyed Love, I would have no interest in playing for him. He insulted Love on a skill level, leadership level, and health level. Also, by saying what he said, he basically admitted that he cannot believe the Cavaliers traded for him. Totally unprofessional on his part. Pretty embarrassing if you ask me. Good luck to the Wolves ever getting players to play for an owner that acts like that. I have never seen Robert Sarver say anything like that. Quite the opposite in fact. Sarver usually always thanks people for their time with the Suns and acts cordially, no matter what happened.

So far McD has made moves that would allow us to move forward in a similar fashion.

Totally agree. As I mentioned a few pages back, let him play for his QO @ $3.7M. Call his bluff. We get a potential All-Star player on the Suns for a year at that price. He'll play hard to earn the Max contract he wants, and in doing so, may very well propel us to the playoffs.

This is all a gamble either way. We Max him, he gets hurt/lazy, we're sunk for the next 5 years. We don't pay the Max, he takes the QO, leaves next year with a Max from someone else, and he plays awesome and ends up being a perennial All-Star and we lose out.

I'd rather gamble on the safe side. Maybe he takes the 4yr/$48M, and he plays well and we keep him and win, or we trade him for a quality big, because he has a tradable contract, and again,we win.

Or he doesn't, but that still saves us about $4M a year--that's a solid back-up player contract right there.

What is Taylor mad about? They effectively turned OJ Mayo into two number one picks and another first rounder, which will allow them to get Thad. :o It isn't like Love walked away.

I'm just hoping for a letter from Taylor either in Impact font; one of my personal favourites from school days.

It's a damn good package for a guy that hasn't brought them nothing but empty points and rebounds. Now they get to start from scratch and sell tickets on potential once again.

Plus if Love gets hurt or falls off and Wiggins becomes the next superstar, this trade could look really really bad for Cleveland in a few years.

I think Love is going to thrive with less pressure and better plays created by having Lebron on the team. Wolves fans may get butthurt if he wins a ring but let's be honest, they were never going to win a ring with him anyway. Great deal for them.

I think he will do just fine, and I agree to an extent about the pressure, but only in the sense of having to carry the team. I think he will get more pressure from LeBron, and added pressure to keep up the points while shooting the ball less. Love was 18+ shots per game, and LeBron was 17+ Shots per game. Something will have to give for Love. Although I don't see why his rebounds will go down.

Yeah, I meant pressure to carry the team by himself and still be putting up 20/12. But he will definitely need to carry his own weight if he wants to win.

Clippers just agreed to paying Doc Rivers (a coach) $10 million a year. Now what will Bledsoe ask for?

If Rivers is worth $10mill compared to the other coaches around the League, Bled is worth at least a triple-max.

Pops and Duncan are a package deal. But no way should doc be paid more than pops. Considering doc was considered one of the worst coaches pre Boston "big three," it's insane he is getting paid that much.

He's done great when he's had talent (08 championship) but no way he should be getting paid more than Pops (5x championships, 3x COTY) . Seems like Balmer is out trying to making a splash.
