Carlos Delfino?

Post#1 » by THA6 » Fri Aug 29, 2014 7:43 pm

Delfino just got waived by the clippers. I think he would be a good pickup. Especially after losing Sefolosha, we need some insurance at SG. Morrow is a good, but he has shown to be injury prone. Lamb is up and coming, but he is still young and we don't know fully what he is capable of yet.

Delfino is a good shooter/defender. a really good 3/D guy. We should pick him up and let him play out training camp, and see what he displays.

There's already at least 4 guys who play SG on the roster, it would just be another guy taking minutes from the young guys. Morrow, Lamb, Roberson, PJ, and Jackson can all play SG if needed, plus Westbrook. If he'd sign for a vet min deal, sure, but I think Brooks would just bump a younger player out of the rotation for him so they'd lose a season.

Edit: Just looked at his defensive numbers, and gonna change that opinion to a no. He's rated pretty poorly defensively, and rather just go w/ Morrow at that point as he's a better shooter.

I'd say that Lamb, PJ3 and Morrow are all better than Delfino today.

Like what Bondom and Kizz have already said, Delfino is just another road block in the development of Lamb/Jones and then Roberson to an extent. These guys need to start stepping up into primary roles and they need minutes. SF is jam packed with KD and Jones, and then SG I exclusively want to see Lamb start with Reggie and Morrow off the bench. Roberson should get garbage time minutes and continue developing his jumper in the D league with Huestis.
    PG: Westbrook/Jackson/Smith
    SG: Roberson/Morrow/Lamb
    SF: Durant/Jones/Lamb
    PF: Ibaka/Collison/McGary
    C: Adams/Perkins
