How do you feel about Jeter retiring?

Happy, that we don't have to face him

AA didn't promise anything at any time about adding players (at least during this current season). He has no money in which to do that with.

I agree he didn't promise, but on the money thing, a player acquired now is only owned 14.7% of his 2014 salary, plus we moved Esmail Rogers and his deal in July, saving about $900,000 (his mid-season pro-rate). Moving Kratz and Hendricks for Valancia saved over $400,000.

Great managing and leadership.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

If you only have to pay 14.7% of a player's 2014 salary and had opened up $1.3m in payroll flexibility, you could indeed take on a decent player. If there was one available.

Solid back to back wins to end the month. Great crowds too!

Jays finish August at 9-17.

Beeston insists that cash is available to Alex if he requests it.

Guys like Blair think the bigger issue may be that Alex is a little gun shy after his last two major deals failed to deliver the expected results.

I would absolutely hate it if Bautista was traded. EE as well to a lesser degree.

Ah, yes, because Beeston isn't known for being tremendously full of **** (not that I blame him, it's his job to be).

They literally haven't added a single player of real cost in 20 months (despite the team badly needing to do so) and rather ridiculously had to ask their own players to defer their salaries to even have a chance at signing Ervin Santana in April. It shouldn't take too much reading between the lines to see what's going on with this organization.

At the end of the day, i am afraid that this dreadful month has cost them a chance to make it to the playoffs. Horrible how pathetic this team looked in some very important games this month.

 Zaun is a straight up G. Now and then. But kinda looks like he's waiting for Jeter's sloppy seconds.

He strongly hinted at and talked about adding players at the waiver deadline.
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.
