:-?

He's like 8 inches taller than everyone else on the court, but he's still out on the perimeter trying to play like a Guard.

Who takes care of Bol Bol? I know if father didn't leave behind any money, because he gave it all away to charity and died because he couldn't afford top-end medical treatment as a result. Who's providing for him?

Also, nice video, dude is seriously lanky. I hope for the best for him because of what a swell guy his father was. Also, stretch five baby! I find it sort of funny, his father would have been all the rage these days being so long and shooting the 3 ball as a big.

you can tell a slight difference in the way the two names are written. Bol is the 1st name; Bol is the last name. see what i mean?

HE'S A 6-10 FOURTEEN YEAR OLD.

Hell, we had a kid on my team who was 6-6 at 14, and he could barely get the water fountain to hit his face on water breaks.

You can't really get a read on a player that early on unless they are a clear superstar like a like a HS Lebron. He doesn't look very fluid for his size...but that can come with time.

Huh?

He died at UVA hospital's DeCamp Burn Center, which is a very good burn center. People die of SJS despite going to some of the best burn centers in the world.

Manute's issue was that he had his medical issues and complications while doing relief work in the Sudan, and refused to leave Africa (he ended up getting some care in Kenya, which is where he got the drug that gave him SJS; mind you, it's likely that what he got in Kenya was what is generally considered the right drug -- an ACE inhibitor, which, while a great drug for almost all pt's w/ renal problems, high blood pressure, or heart failure, is also notorious for allergic reactions that, at the far end of the spectrum, can include SJS). By the time he got transferred back to our country, he was too far gone. It had nothing to do with finances. It had to do with his devotion to the Sudan and the work he was doing there.

I am aware he's a 6-10 FOURTEEN YEAR OLD. But from what I'm watching it doesn't look like he'll become close to as agile as Durant which is all I'm saying. I'm not knocking him, I'm simply giving props to Durant.

But, with respect, that's missing the point.

Have you seen video of Durant playing as a 6-10 14-year-old?

Of course you don't, b/c he wasn't 6-10 at 14 years old. Kids who grow that quickly and ridiculously at such a young age don't have the advantages that, say, an Anthony Davis (or even someone like a Mike Dunleavy, who grew from 6-4 to 6-9 between his junior yr of HS and being drafted) had. They can't develop their skills as guards prior to their growth spurts.

14 is too young to call, but he may get into the NBA on his fathers name/height alone.

I'm so confused..................

Was Manute an idiot? Why would he name his kid his own last name? I guess the kid is tall enough to never get insulted to his face about it though..

Stevens Johnson Syndrome. I wish I hadn't checked the pictures for that one. It's a gruesome looking skin disease, be warned.

Ya he looks slow...I don't think he'll get that much faster than he is now. I mean maybe a little. But if he ends up in the NBA he's gonna be like his dad and play the C position so he doesn't need elite speed. I'm sure he'll end up in the NBA at some point do to name and the fact that 7+ footers make the NBA at an insane clip just because their huge.

Andrew Bynum is pissed, he wanted to name his kid something similar.

+1 At least for the crossover part. In today's game though you can never consider a big that can shoot a minus. I agree though he needs to work on that post game though more. He needs his coach to tell him he's not AI or Kyrie Irving and play like 6'10 should against HS kids.

Durant was 6'6 at 14. At that height he would have played center on my HS basketball team.

Anyway, this kid has no skill and is playing against scrubs. There are kids his age across the country that will blow by and dunk on his head with ease.
