Yeah, I'm somewhere on this where I'd give Ariza for sure, but Stauskas still has the rookie upside, so I wouldn't give him, so flip them and I'd say Ariza, but I don't wanna throw off the vote.

I'd personally not trade anyone above Ariza for him, and I probably don't trade Stauskas for him either at this point.
Wouldn't be surprised if anyone wanted to move Holiday considering the lack of quality at SG/SF and the over saturation of good PG's.

I would say Houston definitely would not trade Ariza for Gordon. Seeing that they refused to match a max contract for their own average player, and instead signed Ariza. I highly doubt they would trade Ariza for someone else's overpaid average player.

IMO, the Jazz made Gordon Hayward untradeable the moment they signed him to that ridiculous contract.

Doubt it. They matched Charlotte's offer, so there's at least one team out there that would have been interested. Even if Charlotte ruled themselves out as Hayward's only suitor since then, it was the Lance signing that did that, not the Hayward signing.

Put another way, we know there were at least two teams out there willing to pay Hayward the max. Without any real knowledge, I would still bet a lot of money that there were zero teams out there willing to pay Ariza the max. Shouldn't that count in our assessments of desirability/value?

Hayward is overpaid, no question. That limits his market a LOT, also no question. I doubt it limits it to zero; I bet there'd still be more interest in him than, say, the OJ Mayos or Randy Foyes on this list.

Because Charlotte signed him to an offer sheet, doesn't mean they would trade something for the right to pay him. A free agent signing is a " Free" acquisition. That means they get to keep all of their assets plus acquire somebody else's layer.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

If a real-world GM is willing to commit 64 MILLION DOLLARS to a guy, I'm pretty sure it represents some legitimate interest. It makes no sense to me to say "his free-agency value to us is 64 MILLION DOLLARS, but if he actually gets paid that then his trade value is zero." How could that be?

Fans love to say "oh we'll offer him a max contract and if it gets matched then he's worthless to us" but that is obviously not the case. If you're willing to offer a guy that much money, you obviously value him highly.

Anyone want to nominate someone for the next valuation?

This is easily Ariza.. They're close to the same level, Hayward slightly better, Ariza on much better contract.

Korver's value is higher than Ariza, right?

I'm voting Horford. Horford is at his peak and tends to be injured. I'd trade Horford for Hayward
