 Nice job with the shirt.

I didn't think you would, though. I'm sure it'll be interesting for you when Chelsea play United, at least.

United is similar to the Lakers. After a century of success a rapid change in the most important person at the clubs retires (Ferguson/Jackson) and the successors fail to continue the business. While trying to rebuild they struggle to add the right balance to the teams and the supposed superstars acquisitions are either redundant to the existing star players and their position (Dwight, Pau/Rooney, van Persie, Falcao, Kagawa, Mata) or fail (Nash/Fellaini).

No. United are far worse than the Lakers. If the Lakers could just spend all the money in the world on players like United does they would be a contender for sure.
But the salary cap is preventing that.

Holy crap, Cuauhtemoc Blanco is still playing? Last time I saw him play was in MLS (5 years ago?) and even there he looked old, immobile, and like he weighed about 300 pounds. Dude was amazing back in the day but I can't believe he is still playing.

41 years old. He even played with the National team for about 36 minutes in one of their final home games before heading into pre-World cup friendlies.

"highlights" start at about 40 seconds.

He played in Mexican second division for 2 or 3 years. This year he signed with Puebla in first div. He doesn't see the pitch much, though.

I watched the Isaiah Thomas knickerbockers and your statement is false.

How so? What club would you say compares closest to the Knicks (as close as you can get with such different sports)?

I really think its Tottenham.

Knicks are a pretty terrible analogy. They over-spend and suck, we spend reasonably and finish outside of the top 4.

I'd compare us to the Warriors. Usually a fast paced offense based on counters and not quite enough talent to get a title, but there's always serious potential and you'll be in the championship mix...just a far far longshot until either team figures out their core.

Also, Knicks are pretty clearly QPR.

Tottenham are nothing like the Knicks. Maybe the Clippers - Big city potential & 2-3 year flashes of mild success.

Raptors are analogous to Cardiff or Swansea for a very obvious reason. Newcastle or Aston Villa might work too.

Because being a fan of the Isaiah Thomas Knicks was the most depressing team anyone could be a fan of. QPR is the right comparison, though for a few years there Donnie Walsh had us moving towards Wolfsburg.
