He's now on a 1-year contract. So no Bird rights to resign him unless he stays in Detroit. If he's traded, you'll need outright cap space to sign him as a FA - whether he's traded to your team or somewhere else.

I think Jrue is worth less than Wesley Matthews when you consider contracts (I may be in the minority here), so I chose Jrue

I definitely see Jrue higher.

Wesley Mathews is an expiring contract, I don't see that making him have more value then a locked in Jrue at 10.5m a year for 3 years.

I could actually see Detroit wanting to trade for Wesley Matthews but I don't know that Portland bites. I would trade Trevor Ariza and his big contract that he probably won't live up to until 2017-18 when he's a 2018 free agent.
