well after that first touchdown, and until the last drive, we showed we absolutely suck regardless of who the QB is........ in fact as much as i love Derek Carr, I have to wonder if it was a mistake to start a second rounder rookie to start from day 1. there is a reason why Bortles/Bridgewater/Manziel are not starting.
ehhhhh f it.

Yeah, that was pretty awful, I have to admit I think I actually dozed off a few times streaming the game.
Ugh. Having no rushing game to speak of I am quite sure compounded the problem...
I kind of agree with you Neddy, confused as to what management is trying to do with the QB situation..
Ah well, I wasn't expecting us to win this game anyways..Hopefully better luck next week.

it's fairly easy to see where we are lacking the most... THE OL and WRs. by 3rd quarter Carr looked skittish. he looked timid, out of time and constantly looking around to avoid hit rather than looking up the field. more than a couple of situations where he could have stepped in, he chose to flee the pocket. but hell, the real question mark is on Dennis Allen now then. even though Carr played well for that last game of the preseason, i did feel that he was jumping the gun to name Carr the starter so early. we don't have enough around him to win games right now. Denarius Moore just isn't good enough for anything other than a 3rd WR. Streater played his heart out but he just wasn't enough. Jones made that one great catch but clearly he is not #1 WR on any team other than here. Im not sold on Mack after seeing his play today. hopefully he is not another Mclain, but i have to wonder why we didn't take the same approach as last year and trade down for one of the glut of WRs in the first round. the best rookie i saw today was TJ Carrie and he was a 7th rounder for god's sake.
ehhhhh f it.

GO RAIDERS GO!!!!
Hopefully we can pull out a win in our home opener today over the Texans!
I REALLY hope we can get the running game going today to take off some of the pressure from Carr!
Hope the D# can put the pressure on for the *whole* game/all 4 quarters!
Keep our penalties at 4 or less & keep our turnovers low as well!

Re: Semi-official Oakland Raiders 2014/15 Reg.season game th
although Derek Carr is showing some signs of promise, this team overall is a miserable squad. James Jones fumbling twice in a single play just about sums up what he've got going on in Oakland. things need to change in a hurry or heads will start rolling all over the front office and the coaching staff. how things are as of right now, i can picture Tony Sparano taking over before this season is over at HC and Reggie will be replaced at the end of the season. we should have drafted Sammy Watkins...... smh with the WRs we've' got....
ehhhhh f it.

i dunno. i don't think vincent brown is better than any of the receiver we currently have whom are struggling.
0-16 perfect season might be in our very near future.

Yeah, you might be right. Oh my gosh what a terrible, ugly game today! Wow!
Man oh man, I truly thought things were going to be better this year! How wrong was I! Sigh!

it's alright Reggie. We get it. You didn't want us to deal with the turnover every year of getting a new coach, so you stuck with Allen. He's just a solid coordinator. Not a great one and not a head coach.
promote Tony asap, i think he can get more out of the players and we can reevaluate at the end of the season. but the next coach we bring in needs to be THEE guy. no more stop gaps. no more risks. the next guy needs to be a hit record man.

Re: Semi-official Oakland Raiders 2014/15 Reg.season game th
Just a thought:
Perhaps Reggie went too far cleaning house? I understood letting all those people go the previous year but this offseason when he let Veldheer and Houston. Now it just seems like there's too many holes to fix and not enough time.
If we get the #1 pick, I want to trade down to 4th or 5th, get a few extra picks, and draft that LT out of Stanford. Andrus Peat.
but then again....who in the hell wants to go another year without drafting a receiver?

Re: Semi-official Oakland Raiders 2014/15 Reg.season game th
Keys to the game Raiders vs Pats:
1. Raiders have to stop the Pats run
2. Raiders have to run the ball against the Pats
3. Have to get pressure/blitz/sack/hurrys on brady
4. Conversely have to avoid that happening to Derek Carr
5. Reduce/limit our turnovers
6. Reduce/limit our penalties
If we do ALL of that we *might* have a chance against the Pats, but realistically: Pats 34 - Raiders 20(hopefully my reverse jinx will work!)
GO RAIDERS GO!!
P.S. my 1 hope/prayer is to AVOID a score as bad as the falcons/bucs game! ><

Re: Semi-official Oakland Raiders 2014/15 Reg.season game th
Im actually impressed that we only lost by a touchdown and it involved a controversial call to do it too.
I think Carr is better than i thought he was. I think our overall talent of the team is much lesser than i thought it was.
I have been a strong supporter of Reggie Mac but i think the lack of talent must fall on his lap. it isn't like Little Davis didn't make it clear that he wanted the team to be better than the last season. Reggie had a pretty good sum of money to play the game too. deep down inside i still think Reggie can do it but it would take a couple more years to finally get it right, but his draft picks so far includes a first round question mark cornerback who hasn't played yet this season and barely played, a second rounder RT who now enjoys the sideline, a 4th round quarter back who got cut before the season even started. the Matt Flynn and Matt Schaub debacles does not help his credentials or respectability in his talent evaluation either.
I think Dennis is a great defensive coordinator. but we need a HC.

Keys to the game:
Pretty much the same as last week, except for we *really* need the O-line & MJD & Dmac to get the run game going!
Make sure the Dolphins don't get their run game going.
Oline has to continue to protect Derek Carr & avoid any sacks & give him time to make his progressions & the correct decisions in the pocket.
No turnovers! Force the Dolphins into turnovers though!
Continue not taking penalties or work on reducing them.
GO RAIDERS GO!!! We really, really need to win this game!
