As a Knicks fan I can tell you that Woodson was absolutely horrible as a head coach last season, but as an assistant I think he has a lot to contribute, in terms of being a calming presence and keeping guys together.

I don't think Woodson should be solely blamed for last season. The Knicks stupidly let go of nearly all of their veterans that were a stabilizing influence on the team. They were left with a bunch of knuckleheads, selfish players, and inexperienced guys. The Knicks left him hanging out to dry.

LOL @ a knick fan blaming Woodson. blame your loser leader Melo who made a "business" decision to stay with the knicks for his media venture capital "business" opportunity. blame James Dolan as he actually is the only man worse than Donald Sterling in terms of making "basketball" decisions. hell, blame what's his name that used to coach that piss and purple team that shares the arena with us that's now your team president for making dumbass decisions that wiped out your chance at relevancy this upcoming season. but blaming Woodson for your failure is like saying people who smoke in New York is to blame for the global warming.
ehhhhh f it.

he only said he was bad as a head coach last season. that's not the same as blaming him for the knicks being bad.

I have never liked Woodson but I am optimistic about him joining the staff simply because I also thought Alvin Gentry was a joke and he proved me wrong.

There's big difference between what some guys can do as an assistant and as a head coach. Mike Brown is another example.
