According to the General Board, he is not even the best player on the LTU team.

That mid range jumper was nice to see...was a few feet outside the foul line

I'll get excited if he puts those numbers up against Spain or USA. :)

He's playing against Asik next. Omer is an elite defender - should be a good test.

I do agree with you but one point. Remember that guy Andrea Bargnani ? When he played for his national team not once did he dominate a game. He couldn't take over a game against the worst countries/players.

At least JV is dominating something.

The one thing that was very apparent during this game was JV's decisiveness when he got the ball in the low post. Usually he couldn't make up his mind on what he wanted to do and usually that resulted in a turnover. Now he know what he wants to do and he's doing it right away.

That was my biggest take away as well, particularly from that low-post fade away near the end of the game.

He caught the ball expecting to get mobbed and made a really quick and decisive move, knowing that no one could touch his release if he got it up that high. It really caught me off guard, I was expecting some Hakeemish pump-dribble-spin-hook thing.

Exactly! Its more important to see that he's using these games to implement what he's been taught and is succeeding at playing well against tough competition in an world classed tournament. If he was playing awfully then everyone would be screaming for him to be traded. It's better for him to continue to get more playing experience under his belt, and as his confidence rises, so will the positive productivity for the Raptors.

The hell are you talking about ? Bargnani averaged like 23ppg in 13 games '10-11 playing for Italy

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrea_Bar ... nal_team_2

He dropped 22, 36, 22 and 38 against Serbia, Latvia, France and Israel in Eurobasket 2011, while averaging 8 boards and 1.5 BPG

Scoring, rebounding and blocking more shots than JV

In classic hot-streak Bargnani fashion he raised some Raptor fan's hopes in the FIBA 2011 tournament.

22.8 points, 7.4 boards, 1.6 blocks

There's a reason he's one of the most hated Raptors of all time, and it's not cuz he sucked all the time, as fans we're pretty good about dealing with terrible players, moving on and just making fun of them for the next two decades.

It's because for 1 or 5 or 13 games he would look totally unguardable by any PF or C in the league and engaged on defense.. then for 30 games he would totally shi*t the bed. That is something we can't tolerate.

Jonas should use jab step, then pumpfake, it creates better deceptiveness, instead of stiff stand still, then pump fake. In anyway, I like that he's been using back shoulder, and elbow to create that bump in the low post movement, very effective so far in the tournament.

One of my favorite Shaq/Pau moves is this, love to see Jonas masters this move.

So what you're saying is, he is 2 years away from from being 2 years away?
So JV and Bruno will be beasting together.

The raptors will be unbeatable in 2018, you heard it here first.
