This dude is flat out balling in the Fiba. The spurs are looking to get him, you know if the Spurs are looking at him then he is something special. Only thing is Spurs already have too many players and he probably won't get much minutes. I know one thing, he can't be worse than Perkins. An Ayon/Ibaka starting front court would really be nice. The last couple of years we have basically been playing 3/5 on offense, with Sefo and Perkins pretty much being irrelevant on offense. This year we will have a 3 PT threat in Morrow starting, and i think a guy like Ayon could make a big difference for us. Thoughts?
I don't know about our cap situation, but we can throw around 3M a year to him, i think he could be had.

No.
He has literally never, ever played meaningful NBA minutes.
Edit: To clarify, someone else putting up good numbers at FIBA? Pooh Jeter. You know what? I don't want them to sign him either.

Re: Gustavo Ayon
I watched him a bit last year and wasn't that impressed. I think he could get minutes over Perk in some situations. But in all of those situations Adams, McGary, or going to small ball with Ibaka/Durant would be much better.
I wouldn't be opposed to picking him up for the Thabeet role or maybe a bit bigger role than that, but not too much more.
