Offence looks pretty good but the defence has been pretty bad. He's let a lot of guys score when he has been defending.

I do agree with you but one point. Remember that guy Andrea Bargnani ? When he played for his national team not once did he dominate a game. He couldn't take over a game against the worst countries/players.

At least JV is dominating something.

The hell are you talking about ? Bargnani averaged like 23ppg in 13 games '10-11 playing for Italy

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrea_Bar ... nal_team_2

He dropped 22, 36, 22 and 38 against Serbia, Latvia, France and Israel in Eurobasket 2011, while averaging 8 boards and 1.5 BPG

http://www.eurobasket2011.com/en/cid_4, ... 36246.html

Scoring, rebounding and blocking more shots than JV

Well, its easy to generate big numbers when you're focal point on Italy NT (21st according fiba ranking) and not so easy when you play Lithuania (4th according fiba).

No doubt, just disputing minsta's claim that Bargs never dominated

Thats a poor argument, Italy was relatively deep. The problem is - they were not successful, at all. Bargnani's game just doesn't translate to wins, every team hes been on, became weaker with him being there. Some might say it is coincidence...

I didn't notice anything particular from the refs aside from overall incompetence towards both sides.

The team has 0 FTA. Happened against Korea as well. This is suspect.

Yep, the team has been settling with 3 pointers or floaters mostly.
