So Jonas did OK I guess? Couldn't watch the game, how was his defense? Not talking about pick and roll defense, because that is broken for the whole Lithuanian team, but how about his help defense and how did he do against Asik? Did he have a lot of touches in the post, or were most of them after he grabbed an offensive rebound? Also, it's nice to see that he snatched more rebounds than Asik in virtually the same amount of time.

Good to hear Lithuania won :). Quite happy!

Didn't get to see the game (again) :(

Will watch later on Ballstreams. Thanks for the info on the game, everyone. At least I can get an idea of what happened through you guys.

Asik beat him cleanly on a drive. Probably the worst mistake he made all game. Twice Asik tried to back him down and went nowhere, which means that JV's lower body strength has really improved. Asik is one of the strongest bigs in the game, although he doesn't have much in terms of range.

Most of the time he played the PnR well, but towards the end of the game it got a little rough. On offense, JV struggled to get into good scoring position against Asik. Most of his buckets were just outworking Omer on the glass, although he had one nice fake that got Asik off his feet and led to a score. He missed a couple of chip shots. One he was fouled on and it led to the technical a moment later. It's worth noting that Lithuania didn't have a single free throw until right near the end of the 3rd quarter.

I thought he did a good job moving the ball once he realized he was in a low-percentage area. It was a solid game. Apparently Asik was under the weather and he faded pretty quickly near the end.

Ok is the right word to describe Jonas performance today. Defence was pretty good, still few mistakes leaving his player open, which resulted in points for Turkey. As to head-to-head with Asik they both were best at defensive end - after first 2 offensive rebounds in like 2 minutes Jonas managed to get I think only 1 afterwards, however JV wasn't able to do something in offense 1 on 1. Only 2-3 touches in the post, nothing good came out of this. However Jonas was a beast rebounding with authority at the defensive end.

Good to know that he looked good on the defensive end. Asik is definitely no offensive juggernaut, but Jonas from a year ago probably couldn't stop him in the post. Will have to watch the game later. Hopefully Jonas has a great game against the US and hopefully the game will start later than it did today.

12 points for a guy who missed a couple easy ones and couldn't seem to get much going offensively is pretty encouraging. Happy to hear that the defense was pretty good too. Thanks, ESTK.

Watched the whole game. Val was alright, and looked like one of the best players on the court, but he hasn't been as big of a factor as Lithuania's outside shooters have been.

As of now, Lithuania will play semifinal at the same time as USA-Slovenia game starts, on Thursday

Demar vs. Jonas, I wonder if Coach K-hole will play Demar more minutes since he knows Jonas game inside out

Is it just me or has his in-traffic rebounding improved?

Holy ****. Looking at those highlights, if JV treated more centers like he treated Asik today he'd be pulling down 14 rebounds a night.

He did miss a couple easy baskets today. Sad when we have to look at brutal stats like 55% shooting from him.

I was thinking the same thing - not only does he seem stronger, but his positioning and timing is better too. He looks like a legit rebounder now, not just a tall guy with a motor.

JV's rebounding is really encouraging to see.

Actually, everything is.

Yeah, well-put. The timing and strength stood out to me. Can't recall what his positioning was like last year.

Looks like he's getting the knack for those awkward behind-the-head rebounds that require body agility.

Nothing special just fans meeting with the team. You can see JV, Sabonis.
