His NBDL stats weren't that impressive, but can play either PF or Center and although he is just 6'8 he nearly has a 7'7 wingspan. I remember he played at Ohio State, but thats about it.

I wondered the same thing.

Priest Lauderdale was an absolute hulk of a man. Had he ever gotten his conditioning in order he could have been a great situational guy off someone's bench. Had no discipline though and just washed out the league.

I remember really wanting the hornets to acquire another pick in the 20s to grab him during that 96' draft.

also the first thing I thought. but according to his wikipedia page there's a more unexpected relation - 70s big Jim Chones is his uncle.

but Priest Lauderdale is as obscure as 90s names go, haha. he ended up acquiring Bulgarian citizenship and playing for their national team after his short NBA career.

I have no idea who that Brian kid is, either.

The "Brian kid":
Was a standout at Montana and in the Big Sky league in general. He graduated college 3 years ago (2011?). The NBA lockout was that year so his opportunities to try out for teams was limited. He instead played in Turkey one year, Belgium the next, then Germany last year. He was a standout in the foreign leagues. This year, he's shooting (no pun intended ;-) ) for an NBA gig.

Yes, I know him personally ;-). Besides being a talented ball player, he's a great young man. I'm rooting for him to stay in the states, but he'll do great wherever he is.

Nazr Mohammad was at the optional workouts, it wouldn't surprise me at all if he comes to training camp and is the 3rd center

I don't think I've ever been so optimistic for the NBA season to begin!

I'm surprised a team like the Heat hasn't picked up Nazr.

He was "done" a long time ago. I don't expect him to do anything but be a vet presence on a team that needs one and play very sparse minutes.

I'd love Nazr back.

Lance and Nazr versus Lebron...FIREWORKS!

Great vet presence.
