NBA > Euroleague > Regional (National) Euro leagues > Rest of the world leagues > ... > D-League
I can't believe some people here have such a high opinion of D-league. I'll remind you that only the best of the best from D-league are signed by just average Euro clubs, and even than it's 50% chance they make the roster. Players in D-league barely play any D, it's all mindless basketball where everyone is playing only for personal stats, so they can hopefully grab the attention from elsewhere. Even NBA rookies who are put out there, usually dominate, even though they are playing against far older and experienced players. Quality gap is just huge, and thinking that there are a bunch of Zoran Dragic and PJ Tucker type of players in D-League is just plain dumb.

When Goodwin went down to the D-League he averaged like 28 points. Zoran would absolutely wreck in the D-League.

Re: Offseason Thread 6: The Not So Mexican Stand-off Continu
zoran is another mediocre body on this crowded roster. He would compete for minutes with green, Archie, IT, and Eric. Plus the brother thing would really complicate issues. Keef is not a star player so people don't think of Mook getting minutes just to please Keef. Jeff would be second guessed every time he gives Zoran minutes.
If he has star potential, fine. Otherwise move on.

Unfortunately, Bog isn't a lock to come over, and Goodwin still lacks rotational ability. So that really only leaves IT signed for a long period. Hopefully Goran re-signs, and secures his place in our future.

Re: Offseason Thread 6: The Not So Mexican Stand-off Continu
No room for Zoran now, but if we make a mid season trade to acquire a star and end up shipping away some 2's or 3's, then maybe it makes sense to bring him in.
If he makes it past the October 5th deadline, perhaps the best thing to do is to use a 2nd round pick on him to secure his rights. It also would be a great move to encourage Dragic to resign since the draft is a bit ahead of the start of free agency.

How do we use a second round pick to secure a FA, that is signed to Malaga?

That confused me as well.
I don't think we'll do anything unless we know Bledsoe is gone. If he signs the QO, maybe then we'll make a strong push to sign Zoran. I'm pretty surprised no team took a chance on him back in 2011. Dragic was starting to come into his own then and securing his brothers rights could have saved them some money and the need to bargain.

Re: Offseason Thread 6: The Not So Mexican Stand-off Continu
It occurs to me that we may not actually care whether Bledsoe signs for $13 million per or the QO. It's not like his rights become worthless with the QO (complicated and contingent, sure, but not worthless). We're deep and talented enough at the 1 that we're not dependent on him. We might actually just be in the optimal position here.

As Steve Kyler from Basketball Insiders opines, the Suns won’t be rushing into a deal with Bledsoe and he won’t either as the two sides couldn’t want a more opposite outcome to the situation.
The word from Bledsoe’s side is that he is likely signing the Qualifying Offer and playing out his contract to get to unrestricted free agency next summer. However, there is no rush in doing that. As soon as he signs he is basically locked into Phoenix and that would remove any chance of a trade out of Phoenix.

If he takes the QO, he is an idiot, who clearly doesn't want to play in PHX. We give him a place where he can start, in a system that will maximize his skills, and this is what we get? At this point I really don't care if he ever suits up for PHX.

Re: Offseason Thread 6: The Not So Mexican Stand-off Continu
We can still offer him the most money next year. If Bledsoe is all about the Benjamen's (like most say) then we should be his 1st choice. If he just wants out of Phoenix then there is really nothing we can do anyway. My patience with Bledsoe has worn pretty thin but if he feels like he wants to prove himself then maybe that's best. The only thing that seems strange is why didn't he already sign the QO if this is the case?

So ultimately Bledsoe gets the last laugh and for no good reasons but greed. F$&@ him. How anyone would want him anywhere near the suns organization is beyond me.
He is just hurting himself because if he signs the QO with intentions of leaving, the suns have no reason to play him as it would make zero sense. Playing someone who won't be in the suns long term plans over someone who is in the long term plans isn't right, shouldn't happen, and is counter productive.
My level of dislike of Bledsoe is unequaled right now (Horry is right up there). What he and his so called agent are doing are on scumbag level.

Re: Offseason Thread 6: The Not So Mexican Stand-off Continu
I think that at the end of the day we will trade him to Houston, Atlanta, Detroit, Milwaukee, Minnesota or Lakers before the deadline. Those are the teams that are most interested in him and they probably have made offers that are low...but when 30th of september arrives we will select one of that offers and call it a day.Right now we are waiting for a better offer...that is my guess., but he will not be a Sun...basically because he doesn't want to be a Sun.

Possibly because he doesn't want to and this whole situation is getting blown out of proportion. A lack of movement/ progress doesn't necessarily mean Bled is less inclined to want to play in PHX. Rumor mills go crazy when they get to play "fill in the blanks".
