Giants already beat Kershaw once this year, with a homerun from now unemployed Brandon Hicks. But he has like a .067 ERA at AT&T Park

Yea, that was his 2nd start off after missing a month. He wasn't even close to being the Kershaw he is at that point. The start he had right after that he went 1.2 IP in Arizona and gave up 7 ER.

Then again, Kershaw could be facing two new guys in the lineup....Susac and Panik....and that could change the dynamic for him a bit. Depends how they pick up his stuff.

oh and I'll take him and Greinke both going 7 tonight and tomorrow with how hot you guys are swinging the bats.

Giants getting a beatdown. Should count for 2 wins.

Jon Lester is a good pitcher. It's just that we traded the wrong player for Jon Lester. Maybe if Billy Beane kept Addison Russell and go all in this season by trading Addison Russell for Jon Lester or MAYBE a pitcher for pitcher such as Scott Kazmer for Jon Lester who was at the time in the top 5 in the AL in the ERA and wins.

Same thing happened in 2012 to my Dodgers. Huge blockbuster trade for A-Gon and Carl Crawford etc. etc. Everybody expected us to take off and we just ended up playing .500 baseball and missing the playoffs. It still wasn't a bad deal (it helped win the NL West last year and possibly this year) but we weren't going to put it together with ONE month left in the season (the deal was made like August 22,2012).

same thing here. The rotation in Oakland is NOT bad as much as you're hating on Samardzija and Hamel. It would play well over 162 IMO but it's probably just not going to play well right now over this short period of time with all these moving parts.

I would have prefer to keep Addison Russell and trade him for Jon Lester instead for Jeff Samardzija and Jason Hammel. Keep Yoenis Cespedes instead and let the A's continue to be a scary hitting team with a starting rotation of Jon Lester, Sonny Gray, Scott Kazmir, Tommy Milone, and Drew Pomeranz/Jesse Chavez .

Can the A's borrow some of the offense by the Dodgers tonight? MannnnnNNNNNN! :o

lol, all good brotha....im with you on the moves they could have made but they just aren't gonna fire Billy Beane.

and yea, I wanted to say something about how a 9-0 spanking of my Dodgers the day before only counted for 1 in the win column but now I realize that I have to chill myself and 17-0 is only good for 1 win.

curious....I'm really not playing devils advocate...just curious.

it seems like your team was screwed from the jump with the injuries to Beachy and Medlen. Then you add the fact that you have a bunch of swing and miss guys. It just seems like this team was destined to not make it. Up until the slide (which I do think started around the time that you played my Dodgers), it seems like you guys overachieved.

so what would firing Fredi do? It's his fault? Who is out there for you if you fire him?
and I say that knowing fans of the Bravos seem to hate this guy.

I believe the Nats can clinch the division with a series win in Atlanta tomorrow or Wednesday. How sweet would that be, considering how much of a house of horrors Turner Field has been for us...

Braves dont even have enough pride to protect their homefield, the Nats winning the division is inevitable but come on.

Good on the O's and Uncle Buck for (nearly) clinching the East. They're a fun squad to watch, and would've probably been even better down the stretch if Matt Wieters had stayed healthy.

Oh, but f*ck Manny Machado.

Felt very good to walk out of SF with a three game lead. Felt better to see Vogelsong give it up to Arizona yesterday while we crushed Colorado. The NL West lead is now 4 games. Hopefully we make it stand up and don't give it back in one night (something a Dodger team would do).

Stras finally exorcising his demons in Atlanta. 7 IP 0 ER and even drove in a run.

Soriano nearly blew it. That clown should never ever pitch in a Nats uniform ever again. He is god awful.

now dropping that last game to Washington is looking like it's going to have serious implications on home field.

damn you donnie for throwing a tired Kenley out there for a 4 out save.

i'll be checking in on the Giants tonight. If they lose tonight with Peavy on the mound (their 4th loss in a row), i'll feel a little more comfortable knowing theyre not really in this NL West race anymore.

Aaron Harang and Ervin Santana have been wonderful this season, they've made up for the absences of Beachy and Medlen. Our pitching has not been the issue at all, in fact the Braves lead the NL in quality starts. We're still theoretically in the playoffs picture (no way we make it, but we're in it) in spite of Fredi, not because of him. Roger Mcdowell has been the reason for this team's success. Greg Walker (the hitting coach) and Fredi have been bigger liabilities to the team than assets, the main thing Fredi's done this season is blow game after game with his complete misuse of the bullpen. Don't even get me started on Walker, he should be fired immediately.

We have overachieved, but not because of Fredi, its been all Mcdowell. With a better manager and hitting coach, we'd be in the driver's seat for the wildcard, and would probably still be competing for the division title.
