Packers/Lions Lead Up

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Mon Sep 15, 2014 12:54 pm

We start a stretch of 3 straight division games, 2 on the road. Detroit whipped us (without Rodgers) in Detroit last year. Hopefully Bulaga is back.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Huge stretch with everyone in the division tied at 1-1. Going 3-0 would really put us in good shape in the race for the division 'ship.

Defense is a major concern for me in this one. Detroit can beat you a lot of ways. Carolina made them look pedestrian, but that Carolina D is really damn good.

Thing that scares me the most is the offensive line is Sherrod is still starting. Their defensive line is pretty beastly.

Blow out loss. 2nd half of yesterday ain't fooling me.

Megatron with 3 TDs. Lions will control the clock with the short passes.

We're not getting blown out with Rodgers at the helm. He's eaten that secondary alive over his career, and as long as he isn't completely wrecked by their defensive line (and he had good protection against the outstanding Jets D-Line yesterday for much of the game) I don't have a reason to believe that won't still be the case.

I'm much more concerned about our defense.

don't gift them a 14 point lead and I think things will go a lot more smoothly this week.

Blow out loss to the Lions Defense??? Rodgers will feast on that secondary all day long. The real question is if we can get Lacey going. If we do that D has NO shot against our O. Not saying we can't lose this game but there is no way we lose in a blowout barring 3-4 turnovers. As for not being fooled by the 2nd half yesterday you can keep that frame of mind all you want. I'm not being fooled by that 1st quarter. We spotted a solid, albeit not great, team 18 points at home and manage to outscore them 28-3 the rest of the way. That's what I expected going into the game yesterday and that's what I got after spotting them those 18 points.

Megraton very well will get his in this game but he generally does so to me it's more about limiting Bush in the flat and keep their TE's from completely destroying our LB's in coverage down the field.... I will give you this it has been a long time since I heard the Lions will win a game by controlling the clock with a short pass or dink and dunk offence.lol Made even better to me with the Megatron 3 TD's prediction. Johnson very well may get 3 TD's but if they're going to be controlling the clock by dinking and dunking down the field those two statements don't really go hand in hand

We can definatly lose this game but until further notice the Lions are still the Lions and there is no reason for me to think we shouldn't be favored by a little bit and at worst it should be a push. I think we're able to get Lacey going this game and simply out score the Lions in the Dome. As always turnovers and injuries can be the great equalizer going into a game but barring either of those things not going our way 34-28 Packers

Giants got 15 hurries, no hits, and 1 sack on Stafford. Panthers got 8 hurries, 3 hits, and 5 sacks. We need to not only pressure Stafford but hit him. We got 9 hurries, 1 hit and 1 sack on Wilson. 15 hurries, 4 hits, and 2 sacks on Geno. It will be nice to go against a QB who isn't an escape artist. We may get the run game going since they seem to have tackling issues like the Pack, both have 21 missed tackles in total. Tulloch already has 5.

I think we win. We are always in their heads (when Rodgers is playing at least).

Hawk would be 5 steps behind the receiver or would be blitzing and running right into the offensive lineman

Think maybe Clay would be matched up there in our new formation.

Q: Have guys like former Packers safeties LeRoy Butler or Nick Collins reached out to you in helping with your transition to the NFL?

Clinton-Dix: I spoke with Nick during the Seattle game. I missed a couple of tackles in that game, and he came to me on the sideline and told me to settle down, bring my feet a little more and taught me a couple of things while the game was going. I really appreciate him a lot.

^^ Luke Kuechly is a freak. I don't think any other LB in the league has the speed and athleticism to make that play on Ebron.

As for the game, yeah the defense scares me, but our offense is still better than theirs. Calvin will get his (he always does), and we did a good job of shutting down Bush in our 1st game against them last season.

Lions secondary is even worse than the Jets, they might even be the worst in the league. I expect us to throw it all over the field and then have Lacy pound it down the middle on draw plays. That D-line is good but it LOVES to over-pursue on run plays.

Said it before the last game, but the Jets are going to surprise some people this year. I think they're even a better team than Detroit, but that's mostly because I don't think Detroit is anything special. I'll take us winning by a touchdown and probably more if our defense can actually step up like it did in the 2nd half last Sunday.

Looking forward to this week. Want to see how the defense can match up. I think they will pressure stafford. The defense has to make plays when he is pressured. Geno Smith avoided the rush a few times, I dont think stafford does.

There was rumor going on that an alumn was the one who drew the 15 yard penalty on the sideline and not a coach or player. Any truth to that?

next3 up - 3 down - 3-0 = 4-1

vs Lions - We’ll finally stop the run somewhat. Megatron will catch plenty but won’t hurt us bad – our pass rush will finally be full tilt – win by 13
