Ayon and Beasley

So we have made a formal offer for Ayon as per wiretap and we are having Beasley work out with us.

I'm thinking that Baynes will not be with us this season. I like Ayon as replacement he had a strong World Cup.
And I would like to find someway of getting Beasley on the team if the money is right.
I'm sure Pop can manage him and stop him being a head case. If he is focused purely in basketball then his skill set is something that would be perfect for this team.

I'm fine with Beasley. I think he brings instant offense and is a tough player to guard.

I can appreciate Ayon's skills but I don't see any need for him in our system. Baynes is a different type of player and if we can't get him, go find a no name banger.

Ayon's a fine replacement for Baynes. He's does all the little things well and he plays hard.

As for Beasley I just don't see where he fits in and I doubt he has the work ethic to make it in our system.

I'm guessing they have Beasley in to see where his head is at. If the Spurs think mentally he can handle it then I'm on board. If they even sniff he will be a head case he wont be here so I will trust their judgement.

I like Baynes better than Ayon but Baynes has been here long enough to that we should have been starting to see some improvement. He shows small flashes as always but never seems to get it together and be a consistent contributor. Ayon's skill-set has a little less upside than Baynes but if he gets the system and can be more of a contributor, then it will be good.

Interesting, would have thought there's more role for a more true PF type with Duncan/Splitter already on board. Just put a little thread on the T&T board with Boston and SA, curious what was seen as the roster need in SA.

Judging from Kyle's interviews and how he was used in Summer League, I'm sure his rookie season will consist of him learning the SF position only. He has said that it's where he's comfortable at and in SL, Spurs had Daye playing PF over him.

At this point, Kyle will struggle defensively no matter what position that is. I'm really interested in seeing how we gonna use Kyle. Diaw isn't a guy that dribbles much. Kyle can really dribble the ball. So if Kyle bulks up and play PF, he's not gonna dribble the ball much and that's probably his biggest strength. If his focus is to play SF, he's got to get slimmer and try to be quicker. I'm just not sure that even if he drops 100 pounds, he'll ever be quick enough. And he has no future here in San Antonio if he's stuck behind Kawhi all his career.
