14K? man.... thats just not even worth getting in trouble for if you're already a millionaire..

Just saw this on Azcentral. ???? What on earth is he thinking?

I used to see him at the Village Club in Scottsdale from time to time. He used to be much more fit than this. Not only was he a player but he was an executive with Denver I believe. This guy should not be hurting for cash unless he has other problems.

On the radio today Gambo was saying that he lost most of his money due to drugs and a gambling problem.

It's sad to hear about this but its a serious reminder to stay away from drugs or it'll control your life.

I don't think Rex was ever a highly payed player in his day though and I recall he took the minimum the first year he was on the Suns and I don't think he was paid all that much higher than the minimum after that but I could be wrong.

Still, NBA money is still a lot of money. Plus retirement benefits? And he was Kentucky's broadcaster last year; I remember watching the NCAA championship with his analysis last April.

...additionally after retiring, he held positions as an NBA scout and was a VP with the Nuggets. Even if he wasn't making player money, it's not like the gravy train just stopped.

What an idiot. Sad how so many pro athletes don't know what to do after sport - as others have said, he DID have a potential career in a front officer, but that's gone now.

It's unfortunate what happened to Rex. I knew he was going down a road of financial hardship a couple years ago. Was hoping he would turn it around. Doesn't seem to be the case.

To be fair to Rex, Apple has stolen a ton of money from people, and that 14K is only from Rex stealing 1 Mac Pro computer.

I met rex when I used to live in PHX he came off like a junkie to be honest. It's sad that a former great athlete would sink so low. I hope he learns and gets better.
