I swear, if you're a college football fan you can't help but be pissed off. Every week you see ingenious offensive creativity, and we're STILL relying on perfect Rodgers passes and Nelson catches for this offense to function. And I said the exact same thing a year ago.

At one point does McCarthy **** evolve? I'm far more concerned with him than I ever have been with Capers. Dom at least has had the excuse that the personnel was lousy. There are zero excuses for MM.

More James Starks, less Eddie Lacy until he runs north-south again.

More slants, more screens... more imagination?

And... kudos to the defense for the 3 turnovers. Aside from last year, the Packers have been league leaders in turnover differential and scoring off them.

Whole offense needs to be better. Putrid today against a bad secondary. It is funny though that this was the Lions "big win" over us and they didn't even play great. Feel bad for our D today. Played their asses off, giving up just ten points.

Very frustrating game to watch. Moments that made you go nuts (HaHa INT, Peppers strip sack/recovery) but couldn't capitalize. Never could fully possess momentum.

Except college defenses are far worse than anything in the NFL. Badgers had over 600 yards just rushing yesterday. That just wouldn't happen in the NFL.

We do need to get more creative offensively though. More screens, maybe go back to using Cobb in some jet sweep type plays. He's been virtually invisible so far this year.

After the Badgers, Brewers and these guys, actually looking forward to low expectations with the Bucks.

Of course we want to get to the playoffs, but if that reinforces the status quo in the front office and coaching-wise, that may very well be a bad thing. McCarthy has been awful since 15-1, Thompson below average.

This game can't make you angry because we just looked terrible.

If nothing else, the defense played amazing and our offense stunk. Didn't deserve to win.

I'm not looking for 500 yards rushing and 70 points a night. But the Packers have run the exact same thing week after week for the last four years. I'm wondering when we get creative with a quarterback who can do literally anything on the field, when we use Cobb in interesting ways, when our receivers are running routes that help them get wide open.

The problem with that is that the Packers offense has been pretty great since MM took over. Rodgers has been excellent and it was thought that having an actual running game would make it even harder for defenses to stop the team. MM had good reason not to change too much. It served his players well because they gained experience with the scheme, and it was hard to justify fixing something that wasn't broken.

But as time as gone on, the receivers have gotten a little worse. Rodgers hasn't been as mind-blowingly accurate. The running game hasn't stepped up. Teams have started to pick up on some of their tendencies.

I understand what you're saying about creativity in the college game. However, I feel like a lot of that creativity is done to mask some of the deficiencies in talent on some of these teams, and to take advantage of college defensive players who aren't as talented, smart, or disciplined. When you have an otherworldly QB and a dynamic series of weapons on your team, you stick with what works.

They're just not playing as well.

Man, I remember last year when we were 5-2 and things were looking up...

Then ever since then there's been a dark cloud over this team.

I'd give anything to really see slants come back on a more consistent basis. Take pressure off the OL, get guys going who are doing very little so far. Anything besides these routes that take too long to develop and then the guy can't get open and Rodgers throws it away or takes a sack. Though in those situations, nothing wrong with a check down to the backs. Just hate seeing long developing routes being almost the sole thing we do now. MM isn't dumb but sure is stubborn as hell.

Boring offensively. Literally almost fell asleep (partially because of a hangover).

I've been done with McCarthy since the middle to end of last year. Everything about this organization is stagnant right now.

It's actually quite impressive how terrible the offense was today. That toss play has to be one of the worst plays in the NFL yet McCarthy has an infatuation with it :nonono:

On the post game on WAUK a few minutes ago a caller asked Homer why the Packers don't use the 4-WR set more as they did in the past. Homer's reply "I don't think this team has 4 targets that Aaron Rodgers trusts right now"

The offensive line is worse than it was 3-5 years ago. The WR's in aggregate are worse (Jordy amazing, but then again so was Jennings 3-5 years ago) The TE position is worse.

What would he have done today? Defense gave up ten points and created three turnovers. Niners offense **** the bed against the Bears defense on Monday night and blew a 20-7 lead at home, losing 28-20. We'd be crucifying the team if that happened in a home game and rightfully so.
