we win but Simba and J-Hey go down. Might as well shut them down for the rest of the season.

We won, but hard to feel good given our situation in the standings.

We basically have to win every game and hope for bad luck to strike two different teams.

The Braves are 76-78, with 8 games left, do they finish at or above .500?

Braves have dismissed GM Frank Wren. Fredi and Greg Walker have to be next.

Wren made too many costly mistakes with big time personnel. Looking at BJ and Uggla to be specific.

Re: 2014 Atlanta Braves Game Thread
Wren may have made mistakes in retrospect, but he was not able to go after the players we really wanted and needed due to financial restraints put on him by the ownership. He made some good moves too, to counter the bad. I did not think he deserved to be fired. Fredi on the other hand is another story. But firing Wren is the ownership finding a scapegoat so they do not have to blame their own greedy pathetic selves. I will still pull for my Braves, but if this ownership group maintains their grip on the team for much longer, they will make it unbearable to be a Braves fan. Don't think I could switch to another team though. I would just stop caring about the sport and following the sport. So sad. Really hope that day never comes.

Those moves ultimately sealed his fate but he did pretty well with little money to spend for the most part imo.

This is ridiculous they need to fire Fredi and Bobby Cox if it is Cox's doing as reported.

Re: 2014 Atlanta Braves Game Thread
Team needs to stop depending on crutches like that history argument also. BJ nor Uggla ever came back to a point where there production matched the early years on the back of there cards. The year Freddie is having this year is not the year he had last year. I said last offseason that I thought they were premature in locking Freddie up longterm and paying him plus treating him like the face of the franchise. Chris Johnson regressed, Simmons got worse at the plate, even though his glove will keep the noise down for the foreseeable future. Wren jumped the gun on a lot of stuff and when you have a well known budget you simply can't make the personnel mistakes he made.
