Re: Commissioner Goodell
I don't even know that he has to be replaced so much as whats really the need for a commissioner at all? Maybe just have like a 3 person committee where the owners get to vote a guy, the players get to vote a guy, and a neutral party picks the other.
I'm sure there's things that Goodell does that we don't know about, but hey ill kiss the owners asses for a lot less then 44 mil a year

He said 'we have a lot of work to do', but applying common sense/decency would do just fine. He's still just circling the wagons with the 'independent' investigation, so how can anyone trust him? He needs to go.

studcrackers wrote:he's always been a piece of sh*t commissioner and i would love for his ass to be canned. a complete 2 face jackoff who stands behind corporate marketing horsesh*t like "protect the shield" and anyone who actually identifies with that bullsh*t should have a shield jammed up their ass.
im glad his ass is finally showing for the person he really is. a complete incompetent hypocritical dictator who just judges by the seat of his pants (and lately, the publics pants)
but hey, he makes dollars over fists for the owners so i doubt it'll change, despite this being a sport that sells itself and will make money for the foreseeable future if only because it's football.
cant wait to see more awful thursday primetime games and him pushing an 18 game schedule and an additional wild card game on us in the future, all while ignoring injury history for the players and a Ped/hgh problem that journalists dont give 2 sh*ts about, or they'll lose insight into "the shield"
The notion of an 18-game schedule is just insane to me, and a perfect example of the NFL's hypocrisy. Let's essentially get rid of kickoff returns because we're concerned about player safety, but we have no qualms about making them play two more games in a season that is already a battle of attrition to begin with despite the fact that we're basically printing money. The only reason is raw, unadulterated greed. Which is, of course, the American way, but damn...when is enough enough?

Re: Commissioner Goodell
18 game season isn't going to happen. The peak of it's consideration was just about the time we were learning how bad football is for the players. Since then the idea seems to have faded.

A lot of this stuff is relatively new. Nobody cared about concussions 20 years ago. The concussion protocol stuff is probably 5 years old. Ray Lewis got arrested for murder 13 years ago and didn't miss a game due to suspension.

He should suspend himself.
