The best news if we can get Jennings to play better D and play a bit smarter with the ball. He is still young, so maybe he can improve, especially with a good coach (especially a coach who won't lose his job if he sends Jennings the the bench).

SVG is our HUGE offseason acquisition. His supreme authority second only to the owner gives him the street cred he needs to deal with our head cases and his basketball IQ gives them the structure they need to improve. I'm mad excited about what lies ahead.

We will see a smarter Jennings this season because SVG is maniacal about preparing his guys. Jennings has an organized coach who will not show up to post game interviews saying "I don't know what to do" (Cheeks). This coach will not just talk conceptually in an intelligent fashion about what needs to be done (Frank), he will translate the structure into practical application giving the players their roles or action items. Additionally he will not lose the respect of the team because he is too soft and inconsistent to drop the hammer on who needs it (Kuester).

Also, there's an assistant coach on staff in Hardaway who still can be hands on and in the face about what needs to be carried out on the court. Hardaway comes from a pretty tough background so he can more than relate to the posturing that is inherent in the inner city game and show Jennings how to translate that into intelligent team play.
