No question. Makes me wonder why they aren't using Bostick now that he's healthy? He's the one TE on the roster with the speed to get down the seam vertically and make plays which could potentially force defenses to have to pay attention to him. Right now with Quarless or Rogers, if i'm a defensive coordinator, i'm letting a linebacker cover them and shading both of my safeties towards Jordy and Cobb until either of Quarless/Rogers shows they can hurt me downfield.

This gets further exasperated by the fact that defenses are getting away with playing both safeties deep and our line/tight ends can't open up holes in the running game. So those defensive coordinators have no reason to get out of that scheme if we can't run the ball vs 7 man fronts and have no TE to stretch the middle of the field, both things which can hurt a defense in Cover 2.

When Cobb was drafted, the general consensus was that he was Percy Harvin - Lite. The 'lite' came from not being very tall, and although quick, no where near as fast as Harvin. Couple that with last year's broken leg, I think he's lost a step he couldn't afford to lose, and I'm starting to question whether Cobb has the speed to be an effective NFL receiver.

Often it takes two years for leg/knee injured players to regain their speed, so maybe he can get back to where he was pre-injury next year. The problem is, this being a contract year, unless he really picks it up, it would be quite a stretch for me to offer him a second contract.

They said Bostick is often loss on where to go in practice and dropping wide open balls.

He might be looking at a mediocre 1-2 year show me deal for a couple million but not much more if he keeps this up.
