If we lock up Dragic next year, we have our backcourt set in stone with Bledsoe/Dragic/IT all locked up in good deals. I say we keep Ennis and let him develop. He's a cheap insurance policy.

I've always said that if Bledsoe comes back with a smile on his face and we see him working hard while he is playing and cheering on his teammates when the scrubs are in, all will be forgiven.
If he signs 4/54, he needs to understand that he could have gotten this deal done MONTHS ago if his agent wasn't a **** brain. Then he actually could have enjoyed his summer.

So do we all, but as long as I feel we are young and improving I think we are in a good position, especially if we can make good draft picks. I don't really think anyone has a chance to get to the finals over one of SA/OKC/LAC/GS/MEM over the next 2-3 years, and if OKC stays intact, they will be in the mix for longer than that. I have a feeling Paul will wear out early and GS is kind of in the same position we are with bigs, but they are a little better now...we will probably switch places with them at some point if we make good draft picks who develop quickly. But there are other wildcard teams too, such as Portland and New Orleans. For some reason I don't think Houston gets there, but I think they are a bad matchup for us in the playoffs if we meet them. New Orleans could end up being a bad matchup too.
I'd say in 2 years we could be in the mix with OKC and perhaps a couple of other teams IF we get a solid center or PF and a decent one at the other position, as long as we have a solid 3 whether it be Green, Warren, or even just Tucker as a 3 and D glue guy if the other pieces are all great. Hopefully Warren earns it handily though.

I'm hoping for a deal that is as front loaded as possible. We have plenty of cap space still to front load it as much as possible thereby freeing up the most money possible down the road to extend players and add new talent.

Well the most we can get down to in the last year is 11.63 (if we start at max), and that would be paying him 52.5 overall. If we end up paying more we likely end up paying him more than that in the final year, or just start out lower

I'm hoping wherever we land with the numbers that some incentives are part of it. I still want to see him actually earn his millions.

He never said he doesn't want to be here. He said he wants to get paid. 99% of NBA players think the same way. Especially those coming from rookie contracts.
His attitude as soon as he got here screamed "i don't want to be here". I can't ever remember him smiling and having a good time. He never seemed personable in the media or on media day last summer. He never said anything about wanting to stay here and hasn't stepped foot here since the end of the season.
Definitely seems like he doesn't want to be here. And the fact that he came down from a max contract demand makes me think that he has no interest in signing the QO. If I'm the Suns I got up a few mil to allow him to save face and that's it. 4 yr 52M. Done
Can you really blame him for not falling in love with phoenix? It not like he has been with the suns 3 or 4 years and has lived and experienced everything in the city. He came on a 1 year contract. He probably didn't fully embrace or got attached to the city and fan base in order to not be bummed if he left. It's

There are certain individuals here who think the overall size of this team doesn't matter but thats completely false and something someone who has no idea what they are talking about would say. Best case scenario is this team will be the 2007 GS warriors with the current roster.
Bottomline: you have to have legit bigs to be a quality playoff team. So someone has to go.

Well it's a great thing we got the best value FA in IT and it looks like we are going to sign Bledsoe so we will have good trade assets since we couldn't get any good bigs in free agency. It's obviously not for a lack of trying though, so not really worth whining about.
It's not whining it's being realistic. This is an unbalanced roster.
I guess it is what it is.

Archie is only 20. He may grow into a big.

Well. I think the frustration has been the 5/80 or QO demand and the lack of communication. Now there are actual negotiations. Maybe it was all a ruse to imply he was wanting to play elsewhere so he could draw an offer. It looks like this will get done. Good. Best outcome for all involved.

He's got a lot of work to do to gain back my respect and admiration, that's for sure.

He was a free agent... during free agency...
We're in a sports world with wife beaters, drunks, criminals all over the place, Bledsoe mean while wanted a contract, what scum.
I think its a joke to have no respect for a guy because he wanted to get the best wage possible, something 99% of people in and out of the sports world do.
He is the best all around player on our team and anyone who has any interest in the Suns being competitive should be thrilled at his return.

Don't hold your breath. He'll be all for himself on the floor, especially if paid so much. I didn't believe the FO would screw up that bad. Giving 13M/year to a guy who managed to play only half of the games under the best medical staff is ridiculous. My guess is that the real reason he wants max or bust is he knows he won't be able to live up to his totally undeserved hype and wants to cash in now Bynum style.

I wouldn't hold out too much hope. I think his offensive game will improve a little but I doubt it will change drastically. My guess, he'll show the most improvement in his mid-range shot as I'd bet it was strongly suggested to him at the end of the season. If he stays healthy, keeps the rest of his game intact and develops a KJ mid-range type game, he'll be an almost impossible cover one on one.
