Ricardo Lockette

What irritates me is that Lockette is producing for the Seachicks, but did nothing with us and got cut. He already has 2 TDs this season. Well, hate to admit it, but they have a better offensive coordinator and QB then we do. Sad.

you make it sound as if he's become a major part of their offense. He has 3 catches on the season. One of his TDs doesn't happen if Dix didn't make a horrible attempt at a tackle.

I'd take any of our receivers over lockette.

As long as Kaep isn't efficient at going through his reads, don't expect any WR outside of Crabs/Boldin to get consistent looks. The only reason Stevie Johnson had looks this past Sunday was because he was getting Davis' and McDonald's.

What pisses me off the most is that we're TRYING to be a pass-first team but we're built for the power-running game. Our OL is better at run blocking than pass-blocking, Kaepernick is better playing off the play-action and hitting his 1st or 2nd read, and we have two road-grading RBs in Gore and Hyde.

We need to go back to that identity, regardless of who we're playing. We opened up the playbook against the Cardinals because we probably thought we had a better chance throwing against them, but the 49ers from a couple of years would've ran on anyone, regardless the opponent. That's the big boy football we need to go back to.

While I normally would agree with the 49ers being suited for a power running team, I don't know that is the case right now with the changes in the oline and prior starters just getting back, the run blocking has been subpar

I don't think the answer is to go AWAY from your strength. The Niners haven't been an overly great pass protecting line. They have made their bones as road graders who are effective in pass protection mainly on play action.

the AZ defense didn't shut down our running game, the 49ers offensive coordinators shut it down....

Not sure how much a strength our running game would have been. Our backs rushed for a total of 23 yards on 9 carries. With AZ stacking the box, might have just resulted in third and longs. I'll put this loss on the zebras with all of these penalties having killed us.

It's impossible to gauge how effective the running game was because we never bothered trying to get into a rhythm. We didn't run on two consecutive downs once and a handful of other runs were out of the shotgun (draws).

Point taken...But what about the other receivers? The Seachicks have two undrafted WRs contributing - Doug Baldwin and Jermaine Kearse. Baalke has yet to draft a good WR. Maybe he should just stick to trading for them - he found couple good ones in Boldin and Stevie. I am not giving up on Patton yet of course, but I dont like that he is behind Brandon Lloyd on the deph chart...And lets not even get into AJ Jenkins lol.
