That 5th year better be a team option.

I honestly did not think your franchise valued him this much.

I don't really mind this. Sure it's a bit of an overpay, but I think he'll show that it's well worth it.

you guys make it seem like you're the ones paying his salary hahaha....its a fair deal, he didn't prove it with his health but Pho had a top 5 record in the west when he was healthy. Pho has no one signed to a big/long term contract, don't see what the problem is. If he gets hurt, insurance pays the money just ties up cap space, cap space you guys have a whole lot of to begin with.

I like the deal.

14 mill per is fair value right now, and it will become good value once the salary cap increases

If Bledsoe could actually stay healthy it's not so bad, the only concern is how he'll look over the next 5 years.

If he stays healthy and plays at the level he played at last year, or better, this deal will be a bargain 2 years from now. I actually think the length favors the Suns. I figured he would want a player option in 2-3 years because the max-contract levels are expected to rise dramatically.

i agree.

if bledsoe asked for 14M for 3 years, then if im Ryan i'm countering with 14M for 5 years. lock it in.

bledsoe is a very, very good basketball player. i'd rather have bledsoe at 24 for 14M/5yr than lowry's 12M/4yr.

i guess.

it's hard to say whether or not he could ahve gotten this deal three months ago by just walking into the Suns FO and negotiating. a fair deal was waiting to be had the whole time IMO..

I have no doubt he could have gotten it. I am sure that Suns mgmt was convinced someone was going to offer him 4/63. We ALL really expected it and expected the Suns to match. They locked him up longer for less. The 4/48 was an opening offer. Sarver said so himself. If he had volunteered to take less than 15 per year, Suns mgmt would have considered it a gift.

At this salary, I better not see Bledsoe do anything other than the following:

1) play in games
2) work out and practice
3) show up at league/team sanctioned events

end of list.

And for he better learn to be effective without killing your body, or else it's Amare all over again, only without a way out this time.

Man, to think that Steve Nash signed with us for like $11mill a year in his prime...

Maybe McD lost this one? Who knows

A's over Royals. Lester and experience will prove that he's worth the trade.

Tigers winning it all. Tigers are, imo, peaking at the right time.

FWIW, as a Rockets fan I've been using this "if" to psych myself up for every season during decade of the 2000s. That is the type of IFs that can get GM fired. Of course, that is also the kind of IFs that can make Curry one of the best contracts in the NBA. I can't see this as anything other than a huge gamble.
