Always have either Dragic or Bledsoe on the floor and when one sits, put Thomas in or eventually Ennis sometimes. Ennis is really young. Archie Goodwin too. Someone will be traded out of that group, but Goodwin is super raw and Ennis is pretty raw after only one year of college, though he did lead the best team in the country for much of the year as a freshman, so he's definitely a smart, mature player for his age. I was surprised they drafted him though. Thought they were going to go Hood or Harris since he slipped.

I've got no real major issue rotation wise, though i would like to see it shortened, but in terms of dollars, that 7m on Thomas could be best used elsewhere, especially if Goodwin & Ennis are half decent and if you can bring over Zoran.

I think Zoran is coming over more for reasons other than basketball talent. I don't think he is near NBA ready, but Goran is less likely to leave next summer if Zoran is in Phx for two years.

There is certainly a logjam, but if Green plays the 3 more, then it can work out ok. I doubt the team is ready to give rookies major minutes. If Warren proves he is ready, they let Green go next summer. If Green lights it up again and improves defensively, Tucker is traded. The question mark in my mind is how much will Plumlee and Len improve this year, if at all.

Minny apparently paved the way.

why would that Minny story make a difference? they couldn't make an offer without the Suns' cooperation. so i don't think that narrative makes any sense.

there's no doubt Minny's interest sparked this. unless you believe all of a sudden Phx now wants to give Bledsoe 25 mil more than what they offered a while back.

Wow. I can't believe Phoenix ended up spreading their legs for Bledsoe. That contract could end up being major child support down the line.

Totals, here's the site:

And it's a boxscore metric, so not really the most accurate. I just kinda think its a cool idea in theory.

Thanks! As I suspected - his injury seems to have played into his low ranking here. His ASPM is much higher than those around him.

Yep, great player, if he's healthy. That worries me, but hopefully he stays on the court.

This makes no sense. The Bledsoe camp wanted 16 per, we wanted 12 per. We met in the middle. Sounds like a win for both sides.

I'm not sure if it was you posting multiple times on this thread or other Suns fans, but why do you keeping saying say "we" for the Suns and exclude Bledsoe? Shouldn't you all be one big happy family?

A's over Royals. Lester and experience will prove that he's worth the trade.

Tigers winning it all. Tigers are, imo, peaking at the right time.

People really need to understand that both sides got what they wanted here. Phoenix wanted $12/yr for four years, Bledsoe wanted $16.8/yr for five. Bledsoe got his years, Phoenix got the price cut down closer to their side. Nobody got shafted here.

And keep in mind that we all know salaries are going up with the new CBA. A five year deal is actually better than four if Bledsoe is going to stay healthy. They can wait one extra year to decide whether they want to get him a max deal after this current contract, and that's one year of potential max salary they're not paying him. Sure, if he ends up succumbing to injury then this was a bad move, but even 48/4 would have been a bad contract in that case.

Poor poor Greg Monroe. The biggest loser of this NBA offseason.
but if Greg makes more over the next 7 years then Bledsoe does, then he will look like a genius

Bled is about 10 times more likely to be traded than Goran. It's not even close.

Time will tell how this works out. Going up from 4 years to 5 years is a bit of a double edged sword given the upcoming cap changes. Really comes down to that knee and how good the Suns training staff really are.

It was just the easiest way to distinguish between the two sides involved in this negotiation. Now, after it's over, it's back to Bledsoe being part of the "we".

From a skill standpoint or what?
The only concern I have with Bledsoe and that money is his health.

Skills... Not lacking probably right behind Westbrook as the best two way pg

If he gets hurt this will be the worst contract in the league and nobody will be surprised.

Bledsoe's (Rich Paul's) stance all summer was, "Give me the max or i will play on the QO". The max he could have got was 5/$84M ($16.8M per year).

With time running out they finally called the FO and started wheeling and dealing. Suns came up $2M per year from the original 4/$48M ($12M a year offer) and Bledsoe dropped his down $2.8M per year from the 5/$84M that he was hard-lining for ($16.8M per year). All and all, Bledsoe will be making $14M per year, which really isnt that bad, specially with the new TV deal going into place next season and talk of the salary cap ballooning to close to $80M.
