Good news ! Aron Baynes to be re-signed !

Post#1 » by franktony » Thu Sep 25, 2014 3:35 pm

Buck Harvey @Buck_SA · 14 h

For those keeping score, Aron Baynes in SA for physical, expected to sign. Meaning #spurs will return full roster to defend title.

Well, that's good news. Such a big novel to re-sign him.

Now SA has 15 guaranteed contracts. If someone really impresses in the training camp, I'd say that there's a chance to see Ayres or Daye cut, which I wouldn't mind tbh.
Shaq on Duncan:SA won because of TD, a guy I could never break.I could talk trash to Ewing, get in D-Rob's face, get a rise out of Mourning, but when I went at Tim he’d look at me like he was bored and say:“Hey,Shaq, watch this shot right off the glass.”

Glad to read this news! Baynes knows the system and has a skill set the Spurs will need over an 82 game season.

FINALLY. I wonder if he's just taking QO or if we're locking him up for a couple seasons.

I really prefer him over Ayres so I'm glad we got him back. In the playoffs, Baynes took Ayres' rotation minutes and he looked solid enough.

Ayres is our usual 4th string big man with the second unit playing alongside Diaw usually for a 4-5 minute stretch in the 2nd quarter when Tiago and Timmy gets their rest. The problem is that Ayres, despite his physique, is not big. Diaw looks better with a banger type inside and I like Baynes size playing next to Diaw.

I kinda wished we could get Beasley. I mean, if we could get him playing right, he's the kind of talent that we can build a future around. I feel that other than Kawhi, our young guys have limited upside. There's no one here that you can project as a guy that has untapped potential or atleast allstar potential. That's why I was hoping that Beasley works out here. He can be amazing if we can get through him.
