49ers vs Eagles game week thread

Good reports on VD being ready for this week as we released Asante Cleveland and signed back josh johnson.

No more limp for davis. Not sure how macdonald is.

Hopefully AD and Brock can get back for this one.

That Eagles offense scares me as they hand quits a few weapons. Possibly catching a break with they'd banged up o-line.

Fortunately the Eagles D on the other hand isn't the best right now.

Anthony Davis practicing today. Practice? We're talking about practice?

The San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles each released their first injury report for Week 4, and there is some good news for the 49ers, as expected. Right tackle Anthony Davis and tight end Vernon Davis were both back on the practice field. Both sat out practice last week, but Wednesday brought some positive signs. We don't know for certain that either will play, but the 49ers release of Asante Cleveland is a good sign for Vernon.

Tramaine Brock and Vance McDonald remain sidelined. Patrick Willis was wearing a brace according to Matt Maiocco. Frank Gore is on the list for his back, but he was a full participant, so this is likely not something to worry about. Marcus Martin was apparently on the field for warmups, but then went off to do more rehab work. I would not expect him to be back practicing for another week or two, if not more.

For the Eagles, Mychal Kendricks remains sidelined with a calf injury. If he does not get back on the practice field, I suspect he is listed as questionable and does not play.

49ers practice report

Did not participate: CB Tramaine Brock (toe), C Marcus Martin (knee), TE Vance McDonald (knee), DE Justin Smith (not injury related), LB Patrick Willis (wrist)

Limited participation: OT Anthony Davis (hamstring), TE Vernon Davis (ankle, knee)

Full participation: RB Frank Gore (back)

Eagles practice report

Out (Definitely will not play): C Travis Kelce (sports hernia)

Did not participate: LB Mychael Kendricks (calf)

VD and AD are likely to play. Brock is still not practicing and it's doubtful that he plays...Yes the Eagles have a banged up OL, but the Bears were missing two starters as well. The Niners have not generated much of a pass rush up to this point.

Tank is long overdue. We need someone to get after the QB! Brooks isnt getting it done without Aldon on the other side. And Lemonier has been disappointing. Can't rely too much on Justin at this stage of his career.

Hate to break it to you, but even if Tank is activated, how much is he gonna play? Justin Smith and Ray Mac never leave the field on defense.

Time to change that. Justin has 3 sacks on the season but has been understandably wearing down in the 4th. No one else has provided any pass rush. Aaron Lynch has looked good in spurts - not bad a for a rookie 5th rounder...But we seriously need to deactivate Dobbs and play Tank. Maybe they'll play Tank and Dial more if the season becomes a lost cause. Pathetic!

Don't have a good feeling about this game either. The Eagles offense can really give our non existent pass rush defense hell

Yep. You give any QB time to throw and the defense gets gashed.

Losing the locker room, playcalling, other things I might have missed.

Exactly the reason, in addition to 20 million others, why I couldn't be a goalie. The offense has the edge of knowing where he's going to kick the ball and wear you down. If a QB has that time, that'll happen often. Of course there are good goalies, but they look a lot better if the rest of the team is good (giving the QB little time, in the analogy).

Hard to consider this game a "must win" this early in the season, but it's going to really hard to overcome a 1-3 start with the Cards and Hawks rolling.

I have a feeling we'll get our **** together this week. High scoring affair, something along the lines of 34-31.

I agree to a extent about it being early for a must win. But We can't have any errors in this division. Look at the cardinals last year missing by 1 game. Hell not just the division but this conference. Luckily there's a lot of good 1-2 teams in nfc now.

Don't want to make a new thread but:

Eric Reid was fined over $8,000 for his facemask penalty on Sunday.. What the hell!?! Since when do they fine for a facemask? NFL is so pathetic right now.

Ed Hochuli reffing Sunday's #49ers-#Eagles game. Averaging 19.5 flags a game, which sadly is only 5th highest in NFL
