I'm not into boys, sorry.
And there is no doubt about you're absolutely wrong, because nobody has raved about Clarkson's point guard skills, even after his great summer league. On the other hand, scouts, media, coaches, and teammates have been effusive about LaVine's surprising passing and playmaking running an offense. Simple google searches will sort you out.
Back on topic, Clarkson is a gem. His ability to get to the rim is a rare and natural talent, like James Harden. Some guys just get to the rim easily, and Clarkson has it. It's up to him how well-rounded his game becomes, but considering how lacking his playmaking skills are, I'd say he's a natural scorer off the bench, or if he develops that jump shot, he can be a slightly undersized starting shooting guard - still bigger than Jodie Meeks though. Obviously his ability to defend will be a key factor in his getting minutes and a bigger role.
Regardless, his contract deal is a steal; he's a solid asset and a good prospect. I back anybody who I think can help us becoming championship contenders. Not everybody has to be an Anthony Davis or Kevin Love or Russell Westbrook. Role players like Wes Johnson, Jordan Hill, Ryan Kelly have value because they can be good at what they do - and those roles have been proven on championship teams.
Scoring combo guards have proven their value, whether they're role players like Barea and Terry or stars like Dwayne Wade. I just wish we held on to Bazemore, because with Clarkson and Bazemore in the backcourt, we would just punish some teams, just cut up their defenses.
