Now, can someone tell me how we can maneuver that situation to sign Green and Dragic?

We're not resigning Green. I would bet my house on it.

I don't think these deals make or break us but its really hard to see this as the "we will take a discount to stay together" that was advertised. Kieff got roughly market value as a free agent and Marcus... would probably have gotten something like a 4 mil/2 year deal as a free agent. Rather than taking less to stay together IMO Marcus got a serious overpay to ride his brother's coattails.

There is no problem. We can sign both of them and exceed the salary cap. Question is Sarver willing to exceed the luxury tax?

I thought you had to be under up until the last player?

If you are trying to sign other teams free agents you need to have space under the cap. With your own free agents you can exceed the cap.

So why on earth would we not want to keep Green? He has an offensive spark that no one else can match.

There are a few of reasons, but primarily because we've already spent a lot of money and just used a lotto pick on the wing positions. There are not enough minutes and dollars to make signing him make sense. Factor in that he is a terrible defensive player and has a history that makes signing him to a long term deal seem very risky, and I'd place the odds of the Suns extending Green at roughly 0.01%.

IMO he is going to get traded, and perhaps before the season even starts.

Besides all that "Morris brothers want to stay together" thing, keeping Marcus over Green would probably be a mistake.

While I'm not wild about Marcus, I disagree with this. I'd rather have a guy who can swing to PF from SF than a SG/SF. Green is also really bad on defense, Green is older, Green would probably cost a LOT more money and Green's career history make a major regression seem not only possible but likely.

I don't think we will be that close to the tax will we? I think the lux tax line is estimated to be at about 82.

True if we only sign Goran at say $15M we will be at $70M ... above the cap but below the luxury tax. If we retained Green for $5M per year we are still below the lux tax.

Yeah, and I think we would have the full mid level exception if we wanted to use it and could still stay under the tax.

I was really hoping the Morris twins would be sitting next to each other...

This looks fun! Looks like they are a high school team heading off to camp together...

I see it as keeping IT over Green.
If Green plays as well as he did last season, he's going to get a contract more than Marcus did as there's more need for SF's in the league.
I can agree Green would be more effective but with Thomas, we technical don't need him after this season.

Green, Marcus, PJ, TJ.

One of these is going to ride the pine and eventually someone is going to get moved. Green is a logical choice based upon when his contract is over, age, and who else is on the roster.

TJ can be tried some at PF. I imagine Marcus will start to play a lot more PF as well. Green can also get a few minutes at SG. Unless TJ is an immediate success and his play demands 15+ minutes, I think there will be 20-24 minutes available for Green.

i believe it. that's awesome

That's dope. Shows McD knows what he's doing using the good faith the Suns bought by bringing over Kieff's brother and now cashing it in with an early extension. Well done McD
