From Tom Gores, basically Pistons want Greg back long term but need to show him the team can be successful with SVG... its important to have a good season so Greg can see why he should be here long term.

Here's my quick take on what i've seen so far...

1. Jennings doesn't look much bigger, but there's a little bit more meat on him.
2. Smith looks a bit bigger in the face. There were reports of him beefing up to play more PF, so that explains that.
3. I am very happy to see DJ Augustine in a Pistons jersey :)
4. Dinwiddie is much bigger than I thought. He never looked small to me, but next to Meeks, you can see he's got good size for a PG. Hopefully the knocks on his athleticism were/are exaggerated.

It's hard not to get excited for the season this time of year.

Cheers detroitKG for posting the pics.

Noticed that too, and thought the exact same thing. We could win the ship and I still wouldn't be convinced Monroe would resign.

The whole offseason I wanted to hear/see some interviews from Monroe where he talks about the different things that happened to him this offseason. After watching those videos, Moose doesn't give me much confidence that he's happy here. Hopefully he's just defensive with the media after the Josh Smith incident and the DUI/Peeing on himself thing.
Unless we have an amazing season, he's gone me thinks.

I doubt Monroe wanted to talk about the different things that happened to him this offseason . . .

@DEtermination: Great video's.

SVG's video has me thinking that he probably offered Monroe a bench role. I think that's likely the reason why Monroe didn't sign long term.

Greg Monroe is clearly (for an NBA player, at least) a smart guy. It's too bad there's been so many changes in leadership, because I do think Monroe has the characteristics necessary to become a leader.

At this point, though, he's likely leaving. He played out of position for 2/3 of his minutes and he knows it. It sounds like he hasn't gone directly to Andre and said it, but I think that's the biggest issue here -- Drummond is Detroit's 5 for the foreseeable future, and Monroe wants to start at the 5 somewhere. He'll try and keep quiet and not cause trouble, but he wasn't about to sign with a team to play out of position, lose touches, and generally look like a schmuck on defense trying to guard guys with quicker feet and 20+ foot range.

As I said before, I'm disappointed in Greg and in how things worked out, but it's his career and his choice.

One thing I'm looking forward to is Jonas (poop) going back to his rookie form. That would be awesome.

It is his choice and our organization is also at fault as well..It hit me when Dre said he's going on his 4th coach in three years..yeaaaa that's crazy, so no I'm not going to crucify Moose for walking. I'd love to keep him and prefer him over Smith, but I get it. Sadly I wish a few more on these boards did, but oh well.

I feel the same way.
I would hate for Moose to go, but i can definitely see him walking at the end of the season and can't blame him.
Joe D's nonsense over the previous few years are still haunting us now.
The coaching changes, the misused free agency money, risky trades... it's going to be a while before we're clear of it.

Winning changes EVERYTHING man. It really does. If Stan and his staff can really get in here and change things for the better, I don't doubt Moose would give us an ear about staying, but to me him taking the QO reeked of him wanting to see positive changes before even considering a long term deal.

I'm at the point where I don't care who starts between Monroe and Smith. Just play winning basketball, I can't take many more seasons of us playing STUPID basketball.

Haha, I was joking about the arm sleeve thing but yes I do believe he wants out. As someone else has said, I think he sees himself as a starting center and Dre is obviously in the way of that.

Moose leaving will be choosing to play for yet another new head coach - and there is maybe a handful of coaches with more job security than Stan Van Gundy for the next 3-4 years.
