When is the last time a rookie got many minutes for a playoff caliber team?

Kawhi Leonard and Tony Parker most recently. It happened alot in the older days ... Magic, Bird, Richard Dumas, Oliver Miller, Sam Cassell,

I'm sure we can find more. Its really how much trust and encouragement the coach gives the rookie if they are ready. Also a team with quality vets really helps too.

OK, it happens, but you are talking about once a decade for the Spurs (though I guess Duncan would be too though that's two decades ago). The thing is, these were already extremely deep teams that had gone deep in the playoffs for years and integrated rookies, and of course a couple you name are superstars.

You can find them, but it's extremely rare. Maybe one every few years. Typically super duper stars like LeBron can get their teams to the playoffs, but even most star quality players who come in get on bad teams and struggle to make the playoffs for a while (Durant, Griffin, Davis, etc).

I wouldn't even put Ennis on the floor yet, he was overrated because he went to Syraucse and he had "he's just a freshmen excuse" There were guards that went undrafted that produced much better in the Summer league, he should thank ESPN for the way they hyped him up I'm still shocked he was a 1st rounder in this years draft.

Ennis is just so raw, he's got a chance to be good but he left way to early, he won't see the floor at all except in the D league or if we are up a bunch.

Archie will get more minutes this year.

Zoran I don't know how good he is, or even if he's good at all? But he won't be playing more mins than Archie I think he's a 10-12 man on this team.

Ennis was the best player on the best team in college basketball (for much of the year). He is hardly overrated.

That's the best way to go, you don't want to mess with their per game stats. I'd schedule at least 5 off days apiece for Bledsoe and Dragic.

I hate when people compare anything to San Antonio. There isn't a team in the league that has a "Tim Duncan" of their own. Just Duncan's mere presence makes the game easier for everyone. So it makes it that much easier on any rookie.

Even if Duncan doesn't score a point, he changes the game with his mere presence. Without Duncan, there is no "the great coach pop" or tony Parker mentioned as a top point guard. Duncan has made everyone's career in San Antonio look great, from the management to the players.

The butterfly effect was in full swing in the 1997 draft lottery. Had San Antonio ended up with the #2 pick in the draft many people probably would be out of the league right now, who are currently looked at as "great."

Let's be honest, San Antonio has not drafted any one of note besides manu, Parker, Duncan, and Leonard in The last 15-17 years.

"He has that same recklessness (as Goran). That same ability to put his head down and fly to the basket, get contact, get to the free-throw line. The thing that will stand out and has impressed me the most is defensive tenacity. Just how physical he is and how aggressive he is, on and off the ball. He gets a lot of deflections. I think he's one of the league leaders in Euroleague in deflections."

Not really. Cuse was ranked 1st for awhile but I think anyone with eyes during the season would've picked Arizona and even some others as better.

This really is a win-win for Zoran. Even if he doesn't make it in the league, he's going to learn so much and become so much better that, if he has to go back home to play, he'll be in higher demand and a bigger star.
