How to get Mason Plumlee to Phoenix

Post#1 » by jowglenn » Tue Sep 30, 2014 10:59 am

Yes, this is just for fun, but... realistically... shouldn't they give it a shot?

Phoenix now has the Dragic brothers, the Morris brothers, and one of the Plumlee brothers.

How can they get the other Plumlee to make the super brothers team?

Assets they can use in trade: Alex Len, TJ Warren, Tyler Ennis, Gerald Green, own 2015 1st, LAL 2015 1st, MIN 2015 1st, maybe Isaiah Thomas, mayyyyybe something around Bledsoe.

I know the Nets are high on Mason Plumlee, but look at all those assets - there is a deal to be made somewhere. If Brook Lopez comes back healthy, them Plumlee is a bit redundant. They could restock on picks.

How would it be done?

Would it need to be a 3-way?

What about Len, Ennis, and the 2015 LAL pick for Mason Plumlee and Teletovic?

What about Isaiah Thomas for Plumlee & Teletovic?

I just want to see a Dragic/Dragic/Morris/Morris/Plumlee/Plumlee team. Is that too much to ask?

Let's get Phoenix to trade for the Zeller brothers while we are at it. Maybe they can bring Luke Zeller back aswell!

Probably by plane, with his Net teammates.

Nets aren't moving Plumlee unless Lopez is completely healthy for an extended period and the two cannot coexist on the court. Nets plan on playing Plumlee at PF some to get him more minutes or along with KG. Lopez is a 28-30mpg at C so there is plenty if time for Plumlee. Hopefully they can coexist. Lopez and the Nets had their best seasons when he played next to Evans who had no range and was a far inferior player on offense and defense. Lopez can play anywhere inside the 3 point line, while Mason can play high or low post as he's a good passer and is quick off the dribble for someone his size.

Whatever the Nets do get back for Plumlee would have to be another big man and I don't see one on the Suns that I think is better for the Nets

I feel you. I don't think there's many feasible solutions to this idea, because I can't imagine the Nets trading Plumlee for some collection of parts, even if it includes picks and youth. They will be expecting Plumlee to be a big part of their team this year, essentially he's their 2nd main big man, and KG will move into a backup role.

I do think the value can be done, but the fit is what is very hard to make. Len, Ennis & a pick is a good value for Plumlee - you see how a Phoenix reacted already in this thread, calling it a major overpay (which.... I agree it is. You can't get him without an overpay. I'm not trying to make a fair trade, I'm trying to get Plumlee on the Suns.) But would that be a useful group for the Nets today? Len isn't as ready to contribute immediately as Plumlee clearly is (Len is young and had injury issues, and I won't be surprised if he's a better player in the long run... nor will I be surprised if he's essentially a career backup stiff) and the pick isn't til next year.

So the value is great - an undervalued young big man, a rookie PG, and a future pick is good for one plumlee. But Brooklyn is putting out a product right now and they probably really need Plums - a collection of youth assets and a pick is dicey.

So what could be done in a 3-way? What would some other team send to the Nets that would fit their current needs, and that team could receive the Len/Ennis combo?

One of the most useless threads in a long time. The Suns are very high on Len and are not interested in trading him. Word out of voluntary workouts is that he looks very good and that his game has advanced considerably. Moreover, the Suns are not in the business of making trades for the sole sake of accumulating brother combinations. it has to move the ball forward.

It would probably take more then the Suns are willing to give.

Just for suggesting Isaiah Thomas as a gm I believe Suns fans will hire a hitman. Have someone else start your car for you for the next year. Preferably someone you won't miss

Phoenix should just go all out with the brothers thing.

Brook Lopez/Robin Lopez/Tyler Zeller/Luke Zeller
Miles Plumlee/Mason Plumlee/Cody Zeller
Markieff Morris/Marcus Morris
Goran Dragic/Zoran Dragic/Jeremy Pargo
Steph Curry/Seth Curry/Jannero Pargo

In the 100% chance they can't get the Curry's, Jeff and Marquis Teague would be the backup plan.

Get the Nets to throw-in Bogdanovic with Plumlee somehow.

Phoenix brings Bogdanovic over from Europe.
