Xavi is transitioning into a reserve role for Barcelona at the age of 34, which he isn't quite comfortable with yet.
“In the game in Paris I think we made too many mistakes, especially when it came to retaining the ball. We didn’t give a great account of ourselves but I believe we deserved a draw. There’s no need to worry though – we still have a very healthy atmosphere at the club because we know we’re going in the right direction.”
Ivan Rakitić has been starting frequently in place of Xavi.
“I’m not satisfied being a substitute, I want to play as much as I can and change my current situation. But the team comes first for me and the manager will decide. It’s not a dramatic situation, I just want to try and feel more useful really. I am happy that I decided to stay at Barcelona.”
