I don't think an injury-prone SF as your 2nd best rebounder is a recipe for much success.

The Amir Johnson hate is pretty funny. He's pretty good now.

Lance is a better rebounder than McBob, so not sure where you're getting that from.

Marvin also out up better per 36 rebounding numbers.

Well Josh was at like 5.5 rpg per 36, and both Marvin and Lance are over 7 so between them and MKG I feel like we'll be able to make do.

McRoberts was a piss poor rebounder, but I think a lot of that had to do with him trying to facilitate the offense at the top of the key every possession, which wasn't even necessary a lot of the time. McBob is a great passer and all, but running your offense through him got rather nauseating at times.

Rebounding is a team effort. Al averages 10+, Margin averages 5, MKG averages 7, Lance averages 6 and Kemba averages 4. Then factor all the rebounds Bismack, Zeller, and Hendo get off the bench. Well be fine on the boards regardless of what Marvin gives us because MKG can rebound like a PF and Lance rebounds better than most SFs, while Kemba is an impressive rebounder for PG too.

Smh... People still looking at McBob's stats and not noticing in the actual games that he religiously boxed guys out and thus helped others get rebounds.

But, whatever, I suppose you would rather just have the guy who averages over 10 rebounds per game so you could happily point at the stats, when in reality he steals rebounds from teammates and gets the ones that are uncontested (someone like Carlos Boozer, even if the hate for him doing so is a bit over-blown, in my opinion)

You see ESPN ranked him like the 230-something ranked player in the league. Nobody's lining up to pay that 7 mil a year. We're stuck with him and hopefully he can at least make 3s at 35% or better because that'll be the ONLY thing he might be good for at the PF position. He could be a good community guy too with his NC roots.

First off, there is no contract that is untradeable. If Gilbert Arenas got traded after basically not playing the three previous years, while still getting 20 mil, everyone can be traded.

Second off, this is nowhere near that kind of a bad deal. It's coming off the books in two years and everyone likes shooting. The contract even ends right before the new TV deal. There's no reason to treat this contract as if it was cancer. Every single other team in the league is either paying more for their starting power forward or they have a guy on a his rookie deal (with plenty of them bound for bigger contracts) except only McRoberts at Miami who's at 6 million or whatever.

I guess you can't appreciate the fact that we got what we desperately needed and only made a 2-year (an important number since that's when Al's contract, if he takes the player option, comes off the books, that's when Lance's contract can come off the books and that's when we'll be able to extend some of these youngsters. it will be an important summer for the franchise's future plan)
commitment to Marvin in the process. Would you rather have Channing Frye, already injured before the season, for 32 million and 4 years?

Other teams are out there paying around 10 million and having their hands tied with longer deals. Not to mention that the majority of those forwards wouldn't fit us either because of the defensive shortcomings (which is important when playing with Al, at least Marvin could move around and has mobility.. I rather have that than two behemoths) or because of their lack of range (what we so desperately need by signing Lance).

So the argument is that Marvin won't be able to box out as well as McRoberts?

Either way, McRoberts was a piss poor rebounder.

We've got enough 4s, and Milwaukee has enough 2s. I think both say no.

meh on the first deal, absolute no to the second one. I want no part of Brewer's sub-30% 3 point shooting and wouldn't take his contract or his game for free. Let alone trade Biz and PJ to do it. I'd take Turiaf for Taylor though

Absolutely on the first. Sacre would be an upgrade to backup Jefferson.

No on the second one. I have hopes for Hairston.
