i don't like the way you worded the second choice. you imply he would have needed stars to win in cleve...well guess what, the reason he left cleve in the first place was to join two other stars....ergo he needed stars in miami too. :)

the fact is, lebron has already drawn kevin love to cleveland and he will draw others. the miami deal was a mutually beneficial city for ALL THREE. the big 3 all wanted to play together and had a equal say in the choice of city, and cleveland came in last. i will posit that if it was only between lebron and bosh, lebron would have gotten bosh to play in cleve.

so if the poll is would lebron have won a ring in cleve by now, i would say yes because he would have drawn other stars to cleve. the diff is, miami happened quicker.

the poll should be...
1...i believe he would because he would have drawn stars to cleve
2...i believe not because he would not have drawn stars to cleve.

Like I sad, LeBron had one bad game, a game he shot 3-11 for 8 pts. Outside of that game his numbers would have been 50.6% shooting for the series at 20. ppg.

Bosh shot 41% in that series, pretty bad for a pf.

The argument at hand isn't whether Wade has a better series vs Dallas bc he did, but it's whether they would or could have won the championship or at least been that close w/o LeBron.

Heat may not even make it past Chicago if not for LeBron...

Except the problem is your 2nd post is wrong, there is no window for the Finals w/o LeBron on that team, plain and simple.

I think its possible that if Lebron hadnt left Cleveland that the Thunder end up keeping their core together with James Harden because they likely would have won the Championship in 2012.

I seem to remember the whole 10-11 season differently than you do then. LeBron really only had one real bad game that series vs Dallas, and Wade had one as well, the last game, game 6 to be exact....

LeBron had worse #'s than Bosh in that series.

Without LeBron, bulls win the east

Wade had a terrible series for his 2011 standards

Wade had 19 ppg on 50 TS, just couldn't buy a bucket

Bosh also really came up big

His best playoff series by far

Maybe if we had of been patient and cleared cap space and attracted some free agents we could have won one. But things ended up working out beter when he left and we drafted good players and now es back attracted good free agents.

As great as Lebron was, that Cavs supporting cast was basement team quality and its a team game at the end of the day.

Trying to spin nonsense that lebron had one bad game in the Dallas series is just that, nonsense.

He shrunk, he choked, he cost them a championship. That's just a fact. He moved on and he's a better player now.

LeBron led those Cleveland teams to overachieve. He could have attracted free sgents if he stayed. But if that didn't happen they more than likely would still be a threat to get to the finals.

His team won 60+ games for 2 consecutive seasons and made the Finals a year before that. They were consistently one of the top defensive teams in the league and looked unbeatable for long stretches of the season.

You think Tim Duncan or Michael Jordan or Magic Johnson would ever say they didn't have enough help after winning 60+ games? The excuses for this guy never end.

Ha please

Not even those guys win with that roster. They won 60 games for the same reason the 11 bulls did. They worked hard, played D and cared about winning Alot of games.

They simply weren't built for playoff success. You don't win a title with no Williams as your 2nd option. Just can't happen.

I think this is the perception of the time and I'm sure I'd still feel this way, although probably not as much, in the future but what most other people will remember is that Lebron won Championships in Miami and that's all that matter for his legacy.

I think Lebron probably recognizes this too and doesn't care if people today view him as a front runner or collaborator (or whatever you want to call him). He probably just doesn't want to be on a list every year like Barkley whenever playoff time rolls around and people throw out the list of all the greats who never won a title.

Such a shame, Wade was doing work that series.

 No, just no. Lebron averaged 17/7/7 on 54%TS. Let's not pretend that Mike Miller or somebody else they could have realistically get would have done better.

No, it was all designed. Lebron would play the same way today when aggressively doubled, pass the ball, find the open man. Of course against Love and Irving the results would probably be different. The truth is that Lebron played that final the right way, you don't try to bust double teams by yourself, you don't try to score 30 against a defense that had one priority, stopping you and make you give up the ball.

If the Mavs would play the same way against the Spurs they would surrender 120 points per game in that series. They got away with it against the Heat because Wade and even Bosh (who did not have a reliable three point shot in 2011) were simply not natural fits next to Lebron. Irving and Love are, but Lebron would play the same way against aggressive doubling and zone.
