First of all... I'm not saying Forte is a Bum!
I'm saying that he isn't a Full out Rushing Running back. Green Bay's Defense isn't that much better than the Bears.
It really isn't. I already knew he was going to have a better game.
The problem is, against better to great Defenses he can't really run. He can Catch and hit that open field but one little tap and he's DOWN!
Overall he's decent but honestly, we still need a 2nd Running back that can get those REAL rushing yards and burst through the Redzone without us having to be creative to compensate for Forte's lack of Rushing Power.
I like Forte but even people that like Forte that isn't being overly bias will tell you the same.
He's a Great RECEIVING Back. But we need an additional RUNNING BACK that can RUN HARD THROUGH PEOPLE!
I'm not saying dump him but we need to get that 2nd RB in here. We may already have one. Time will tell.
Hmmm... I'm still not buying the premise that he is able to get "real" rushing yards. Didn't he rush for over 1300 yards last season on 4.8 ypc?
Now... if you're saying you want another back who can also do that to split carries and keep both of them fresh. Sure, sign me up. In fact, I'll take a couple more Kyle Long's, Kyle Fuller's and Brandon Marshall's while we're at it... and throw in another Martellus Bennett.

A yard is a yard. Whether or not Jerome Bettis gets it or Jessica Alba. But give Alba proper credit for the yard. If it was that easy, Paris Hilton would be able to suit up, and I dont see her getting positive yardage.
This thread is pretty much done now.

Actually, That's EXACTLY what I'm saying!
Someone to split the carries. Last year was when our O-Line significantly improved. They broke open holes that anyone could run through. Protection for Cutler improve as well. But after a while, you still need a Real Hard Punch through Running back that you KNOW can get those hard yards.... Especially in the Endzone.
That has been the biggest knock against Forte.
The best way to improve this situation is to get a 2nd Go To Running Back to SPLIT the carries. Forte can get his reception yards and the other can get his grind out yards when playing against actual GOOD to GREAT Defenses.

Michael Bush's YPC with that same offensive line last year: 3.1 YPC. He really was grinding those yards out...

Micheal Bush is/was way past his prime. Though he still got more Running TDs than Forte with minimum carries.
You can be as slick as you wanna be with sarcasm but Forte is WEAK and can not make a HARD 1 YARD on CRITICAL short yard situations. The whole league knows this actually. He's built on HYPE due to his receiving yards.
GET A REAL RUNNING BACK!
PERIOD!

I have no problem with that at all. If the premise is that Forte is a weakness or not a star-caliber back, I'd reject that. But if you're issue is with depth or that another back to complement him could make the offense more dynamic, I could agree with that. I'd be interested to see what Kadeem Carey can do in a pinch. He was a beast in college... I know he didn't run a very good 40, but then again, if he did, he wouldn't have been available in the fourth round.

Yeah, Carey could be something but we'd never know because we over cater to Forte to the point that a 2nd back can't really flourish. When we played him against GB he was killing it! I mean I saw some potential there with a one 2 punch but then we pulled back this week.
The Coach needs to make that adjustment and ignore all the Hype nonsense and play BOTH guys evenly.
